Favorite Baby Names

I like Hannah and Emily (my DD's). I really wanted to name DD#1 Danielle, but DH did not like it. We also tossed around Hayley and Alicia.

For boys we liked Matthew and Nicholas.

My name is Denae, you don't even want to know my maiden name (13 letters). Needless to say, after spending half my life telling people how to pronounce my name, I named my kids something everyone will know how to pronounce and spell.

Denae

We went with both traditional and a little different. Older DD is Rachel Alexandria. Alexander was my DD's name. Our younger DD is Tessa Louise. Luigi is my FIL's name.

It is a tradition in my DH's family to name the first boy after his father. Since we didn't have any boys and we know we are done we used the feminine version of their names for the middle names. If our first child had been a boy he would have been called Gino Alexander. I wasn't too thrilled with Gino myself but it was better than Luigi. (Just my opinion.)

I also wanted my kids names to not be too popular and not be too different. Not sure if we were sucessful. Our DD is Madeline, we call here Maddie. When we named her we had not heard either name much, but now hear them all the time. Our DS is Kirby. The other names we had picked were Ryan (boy) and Kira (which we hadn't heard much, but see it is a popular name here on the boards). I also like Abigail for a girl, I would call her Abby and Corben for a boy.

We pick nicknames that we like then find a name to match. My DS is Nico. I fell in love with the nickname and it has stuck. I didnt like Nicholas and there is already one in my extended family, so we named him Dominic. DH wanted it to be Dominico, but that was not going to happen.

For my daughter, I gave my Dh 5 names to choose from. Katie (Katrina), Sammie (Samantha), Julie (Julianna) and Colsie (Nicole).

He said if it is a girl we will name her Julianna and if it is a boy we will name him Julian and we dont have to think about it. So DD is Julianna Elizabeth.

The next will be Samanatha if it is a girl and I Love the name Demetrius, or Demetri..but Dh doesnt like it. He came up with Achillies (Acky for short)...YUCK!!!!

So we are still in debate mode. We have until October, but I will keep going over this thread for ideas!

My DD is Tayla Olivia and DS is Brendon Gray. I love the names Aidan and Declan pure Irish names. For a girl I love Kian and Remy.::yes::

My SIL has two girls, Brittany and Austin. Most people name boys Austin, but she had to be a rebel.
She's pregnant now and is having a boy. She wants to name him Wyatt Matthew.

I like my own name- Katharine. Even the most creative kid in school only came up with Katy the cleaning lady- whatever!

Girl- Alexandra, Samantha, Allison, Elizabeth

Boy- Benjamin, Matthew, Michael, Mark

I tend toward the old fashioned names - DD#1 is Julia, and DD#2 (due in 6.5 weeks) will be Katherine (Katie).

If either them had been a boy, his name would have been Hunter - not old fashioned, but that was DH's pick (would not have been my first choice, but decided I could live with it).

I like my name which is also Kathryn but I hate being called Kathie.

I love the names Gabriella, Isabella, Abby,Victoria, Sarah, Maddy and Katarina.

For boys I like the name Jeremiah(my son's name), Tristan, Alexander, Matthew, Zackary, Caleb, Shaun and Shane.

Girls : Djeta , Rhiann (or Rhiannon), Emma, Anya, Lily

Boys : Timothy, Japeth, Jared, Sebastian

My twins are named Andrew James and Macy Elizabeth, so I tend to lean more toward traditional names. If I ever had another...... I like:

Girls: Elle Marie, Jane, Nora, Natalie

Boys: David, Brandon, Aidan

I guess I like the more traditional names....

I Love Julianne, Stephanie, Kelly, Lindsey, Aubrey, Elise

For boys, Joshua, Michael, Kyle, Derek, Jackson (I like some of the newer more popular ones too like Hunter)

I enjoy these threads seeing other names people like!

We named one son Roman after my MIL. Her maiden name is Romangoli. His twin we named Bryce. My husband chose it. At the time it didn't seem to popular but now I hear it a lot for boys and girls.

My two fave boy names are Trevor and Isaac; obviously, they're my boys' names!

For a girl (which I will never have now), I like Erin, Sydney, and Josie.

Steph--I hate my name

Rhiann (or Rhiannon)

I wanted to name DD Rhiannon but DH wasn't going for it. It's her middle name but we still get people in his family asking how the heck to pronounce it. They (meaning his family) wanted her to have a purely French name. Of course my family is having a hard time with Amelie now - they can't figure out how to pronounce that one

Should have given the kids German names then both sides of the family would be out of luck!

My favorite boys names are : Noah, Tharen, Caden and Alex

My favorite girls names are : Olivia, Elizabeth, Madeline and Kileigh

I am a bit traditional and odd with the names. The first ones listed, however, are my first choices.

My future kids' names are
Cadence Elisabeth
and
Brett Michael

Brett Michael is a nice name, but I have a hard time not thinking of the lead singer of 80's hair band Poison - that is his name. I would imagine, though, that by the time you had him very few people would know/remember that.

For a girl's name, DH and I have talked about the name Grace, which would go nicely with our last name. Don't know about a boy's name.

Any name we would choose would be a traditional name so people can pronounce it, but hopefully one that isn't super trendy so that there are 4 others in his/her class.

My stepson's name is Matthew Coleman, but he goes by Cole. It's a name that suits him well, plus there are a bunch of Matt's in his class and no other Cole's.

TinkBoo, I went to school with a girl whose name was Amelie - it is pretty easy to pronounce, but alot of people called her Emily, which made her mad!!!

Some of my favorites right now (they change all the time) are:

Boys: Jameson, Tanner, Cade
Girls: Elizabeth, Kayla, Camryn - but call her Cami

I do like unique names - but would definitely choose a more traditional name for a middle name so that would be an option if the child really dislikes their first name.
