Our staff is hitting the pancake house at 8am tomorrow to kick it off =)

I'm picking up 6 dozen paczki in the a.m. BUT in this Catholic school, the kids aren't eating them, the staff is! :woohoo:

A co-worker brought in SIX DOZEN paczki for the office. I'm trying to diet, so it's taking every ounce of willpower I can muster to resists these tasty treats!!!

My kids' school has an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast made by Golden Griddle. They couldn't get to school fast enough this morning :rotfl:

Paczki! Born and raised on homemade "real" paczki. Mom still makes them. Picked them up fresh from her house last night. Mmmmm! Tradition is only plain or lekvar (prune) filling (I stick with the plain), all the rest are just jelly donuts if you ask a "real" ethnic person. And the area that I come from and still kinda live in is "real" ethnic.

It's Fastnachts here in PA Dutch Country.

I never knew what these were until we moved here. I just had to try them. YUCK, I never knew that something sugar coated could be so bad. We call them "sugar frosted bricks"! But, I am from the south, so what do I know about PA Dutch food? Sorry if anyone here likes them, just not what I would call good eats.

We're having pancakes with sugar and lemon juice, yummy! :thumbsup2

They may look like doughnuts, buts they are very bland and heavy. Traditionally they are served with table syrup/molasses. I'll take an ordinary doughnut over a fastnacht any day.

Yup. Yummy. Glad I am pregnant so I can eat them without feeling too guilty. We affectionately refer to it as Doughnut Day. I like the plain ones and then I dip it in granulated sugar. So good......
