I've come across these references on this and other boards but (and please excuse my ignorance here), what's the difference? I went to the official Disney website and could only find an explanation of "Fastpass". How does one get Super Fastpass/Unlimited Fastpass?

Thanks in advance for your help.

PASSPORT PLUS

A fast pass is the name for the ticket you get at the machine outside the ride you want that will give you a return time.

The Passport plus is a park hopper that allows "unlimited fastpasses" to be given at the machines outside of the ride. I beliieve there are some definite limitations. :D

The Passport Plus is obtained from AAA(for sure) and Disney Travel Co (I think).

Have fun.

Sorry to be dense but I still don't understand the difference????

My understanding is that once you've got a Fastpass for a certain ride, you can't get another Fastpass for that same ride until you've used the first Fastpass. I assume that you can go to a different ride and get a Fastpass for it even if you haven't used your Fastpass for the first ride. ???????? Can someone help me please!!!

NEW FASTPASS® Feature for Guests traveling on a AAA Vacations® package!
Normally, tickets for additional FASTPASS® attractions can only be pulled when your first FASTPASS® ticket has expired. However, your Disneyland® Resort Park Hopper® Ticket includes the unique benefit of collecting FASTPASS® tickets for multiple attractions at one time.
*Disney’s FASTPASS® available at selection attractions only, subject to availability.

This is actually a feature for ANY package booked through Disney, not just with AAA. It allows you to collect Fast Passes for more than one attraction at the same time (eliminating the wait period for the regular Fast Passes).

Michelle, it is my understanding that the pssess are not "unlimited". Is it true there is a "two per attraction" per day max?

Llisa,

What you want to ask for is a Passport Plus. It allows you to hold one fast pass for every ride in which FPes are available in both parks simultaneously, if you so desire and FPes are still being distributed (and you have the energy to go around to the rides and collect them :) ). (With the Plus passes, the only restriction is you have to wait to get another FP for the SAME ride with the same passport until either the come back time on the FP or two hours after the FP was issued, whichever time is shorter).

We found that with a 14 year old, there were a couple of occasions where the plus passes were quite handy--especially on the Friday before Easter (which was the last day we were there). That was a really busy day!!!

you can also get this from walt disney travel company but don't order the hotel package b/c it will inflate your hotel expenses if your staying on resort package...instead book directly with hotel..it is my understanding that they might not sell you the unlimited(passport plus) if you only buy tickets only, but they did sell to me..

you can get as many fastpasses as you would like, but cannot hold multiple for the same attraction unless the time has expired for the one that you are holding....at one time at DCA i held fastpasses for mulloholland(sp?), millionaire, alladin, california screaming, soarin', grizzly river run, and muppet.....

although the tickets say you have a time window, the only thing the cm's looked for was the starting time...it was WONDERFUL to say the least....i almost(key word-almost) felt guilty having this privilege...we went the week before Easter..the crowds were awful but we never waited for the major attractions...

Repeat!! DO NOT GO WITHOUT THIS...BECOME A MEMBER OF AAA IF YOU HAVE TO....IT WILL BE WELL WORTH THE MONEY SPENT!!

<font color=navy>Just a note...

You do not have to belong to AAA to get this feature when you book a package. Dreams Unlimited Travel (see the bottom of my siggy) also offers this when you book. :)

is there any way to get this FastPass Plus if we are AP holders? I am AAA too. ?? thanks

Disney-Kim,

( You could buy a plus pass in addition to your AP. :) )

It is a nice thing to have if you are buying a new ticket, but don't feel bad, because it wouldn't really be worthwhile if you already have an AP....

We just visited the week before Easter (and it was plenty busy) using the plus passes. There were a couple of times (in the whole week) where we were glad we had the plus passes, but it turned out that just using regular APes would have probably would have worked out just as well most of the timel. (My sister's family compared with their APes). What we discovered in our unscientific test:
What helped was going first thing in the morning and walking on a lot of rides and not needing FPes. Also, several rides were unlinked, anyway (HM, Pirates, Star Tours, IASW were unlinked meaning you get get FPes from all those rides just like the plus pass folks could do). Space Mtn is down for refurbishment for 2 years--so a FP is not needed for that. When we got a FP for Star Tours, they were giving out bonus FPes for Honey, I shrunk the Audience... The primo FPes were Splash MTN, Indiana Jones and BTMRR (and maybe Autotopia). The new ride (Winnie the Pooh) could be walked on first thing and then big waits later on (if you have small children, they would probably enjoy going on the ride more than once--- if so, that would have to be added into the FP equation). If you collected one of the primo FPes first thing--then you only have to wait 2 hours maximum to get the next one and so on. In the meantime, you could collect FPes for the unlinked rides and go on the rides that don't require a FP....
In the end, we concluded that you could still have an awesome time without the plus passes.

I read on Mouse Savers that I could call the number on the back of my Disney Club card to order the Passport Plus from the WDTC without booking a full package.

I'm wondering if anyone has done this?

I called and was told that I could order them without a package. The DC tickets are actually about $1 more per person than the regular tickets because you get a pin with the DC tickets. I'm going to order them today. I will post if I have any problems.

BriarRosie,

That is what I did. Even though you are only buying tickets, they write it up as if it were a package--so, they ask you your arrival date and your departure date and all that (that part kind of took me by surprise :) ) . Then, they send you a confirmation sheet. Oh, and I don't think they send the tickets more than a few weeks (I think it is 3 weeks) in advance of your trip....

I was told by a CM two weeks ago...

that Pirates and Haunted Mansion are not linked to the computer system, so you can actually hold 3 FPs at once in DL - 1 for Pirates (when it opens again), 1 for HM, and 1 other. Thought this would interest all you AP holders. Good geography, too as Pirates and HM are side by side on return!

mousetrom,
That was true when we were there the week before Easter (my sister's family was using APes). Additionally, Star Tours was also not linked and the Star Tours FP machine was giving out bonus FPes for Honey, I Shrunk the Audience.
So, AP holders could actually get HM, IASW(I think that IASW was not linked, either), Pirates, Star Tours (plus the bonus pass) plus one other all at once over at DL. Plus, whatever the come back time on the "other" FP was or two hours later, whichever is less--you could get another "other" FP...

I think this is what I wanted to do today, but couldn't pull it off.

I initially ordered a GCH room through Disney Reservations (the (714)956-MICKEY number) and was actually able to preselect an area of the hotel (4th floor, poolside view, looking straight out at Paradise Pier) along with reserving a refrigerator (in addition to the "bar" refrig). Unfortunately, they don't sell the Unlimited Park Hopper tickets.

So, they forwarded me to Disney Travel, which booked us with a "theme park" view with the Unlimited Park Hopper tickets. This time, I wasn't able to get an area of the hotel reserved ("pool view"). Also, the person I spoke to wouldn't reserve a refrigerator, claiming that the rooms already come with them. And oh yes, all this for $300 more for a 6 day mid-August stay. :(

I have sent the above information to Disney but don't expect any resolution. If someone can explain to me how I can get 6 day Unlimited Park Hopper tickets separate from booking the room, I would greatly appreciate it, even if it means eating the cancellation costs for the Disney Travel Co. package.

Thanks,

Michael

BTMichael,

I had no problems buying the Passport Plus yesterday. As an earlier poster noted, they write it up as a package, but it really only includes the tickets, ESPN cards, breakfast, etc. I bought the 5 day tickets, but she also mentioned that I could get a ticket with more days if I wanted.

I already have a reservation at the Candy Cane Inn which I have had since last fall. My reservation is for a deluxe room, and it is still cheaper than the package rate they quoted me yesterday by almost $200.

I suggest that you call WD Travel and ask to purchase the tickets separately (after you get the other room reservation back!). Will there be a fee to cancel if you just made the reservation yesterday? Good luck.

BTMichael,

We had alot of problems getting Disney Reservations or WDTC to accommodate our needs when we went several weeks ago. I couldn't believe how different the service was booking a DLR trip as opposed to a WDW trip. I figured it was the same reservations office, but the level of customer service is VASTLY below what you get when booking a Florida trip.

My friend and I each called three or four times and were given different info each time we called. Once I was transferred to 4 different people and none of them could help me! VERY FRUSTRATING!!! I understand your pain!

We ended up calling the front desk of the Paradise Pier, explaining our needs and asking what they could do to help us. They were able to help and then when we checked in, they upgraded us to a nicer room (park view) than we had booked even! The CMs at the hotel were great.

For your room preference problems specifically, I would call the GCH and talk to them about it. When we go to WDW we fax our room requests 4 days prior to the trip. That's when the room asigners start working on blocking rooms. DLR may be way different, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. Check out he threads on the WDW resrots board about faxing room requests - there are some great suggestions.

Mary's Mousesaver site (www.mousesavers.com) has alot of ticketing info - don't know if that would help or not????

Good luck - I'm pulling for you!!!;)

We had two reservations. The first one we made through the Mickey number, room only. (It was a military discount. ) They said they couldn't add in the plus pass onto that room only reservation.

I then called the Disney club 1 800 number and bought the plus passes only. (And they wrote it up just like it was a package--except the only thing in the package was the plus passes and all the stuff that goes with it. Luggage tags, pins, breakfast coupons, et'c).

I don't know if you could change your package to just the tickets and call the Mickey number back and rebook your room or if you would just have to cancel and start over....
