Fasten Your Seat Belts... It's Gonna Be A Bumpy Trip! A May Trip Report Updated 8/10

The pictures at Cape May breakfast are adorable... including the one of you crying. :) This trip I was a bit... say... hormonally unbalanced and did my share of ugly crying. :rotfl:
Animal Kingdom is kind of "cursed" for our family also but this time we broke the curse and finally "conquered it". I find the paths are very narrow and it is easy to feel overwhelmed when you are trying to navigate it. It is a park that definitely takes a different pace to be toured but it is worth it at the end :)

I can totally relate with the need of being adaptable. There is just so much we can really control in a trip like that. We too had to go back to the drawing board at the middle of our week.

I cannot wait to read about your following days. The idea to leave the bulk of the touring for the evenings sounds fantastic!!

So glad to know there is hope for touring AK without disaster! :thumbsup2 We may tentatively try it this upcoming trip. If the mood is right and all the elements of the Earth and Stars align and we can tour it without stomach flu, a twisted ankle (happened to me last solo trip), or bad sunburn (DS#1 first trip). :rotfl2:

Also glad to know I wasn't the only revising the trip midstream. The heat was just overbearing this time. I think it was the heat wave, hopefully, but the last time we went in May I don't recall it being this scorching.

The evening hours touring plan actually worked out so well. I can't wait to update everyone on the remaining days b/c it was very enjoyable. And the parks look gorgeous at night!:cool1:

Thank you again for reading!

I'm joining in! Sounds like this is going to be a great trip report. I can't wait for more! :goodvibes

Jumping over from you PTR - loving it!!! :wizard:

Your Disney trip that you plan in your head, on paper, on spreadsheets, and on these boards is rarely the trip that actually ends up happening. [/QUOTE=The_Alice;41359476]

AMEN! I think this is the key to it all - accept this fact, and you're all good! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear more :goodvibes

can't wait to hear more..Our trip in May was spent in the hospital!!

I finally made it over!

I love the Kermit ears! DS5 picked them out for himself. DH kept eyeing the R2D2 ears, but would never bring himself to buy them (ears are for kids he claims :sad2:).

Sorry to hear about your AK morning ... I do hope that things got better from there out. Can't wait to hear more!

Ohh I'm loving your reports and style of writing;
Then you get those AWWWWW moments, the baby asleep in their pram, the kiddos conked out over their Daddy’s shoulders. The little princesses still prancing around at 9:45 at night. Say it with me: AWWWWWWWWW!

This just made me tear up, summed it up perfectly! :wizard:

More!

Glad you're back! You do have to tour WDW differently depending on what time of year it is. We realized that a few years ago when we started going in the summer time, as it is way hotter than going in February or April. I'm glad to hear that your DH was feeling better and he was able to enjoy Epcot! I can't even fathom spending $500 on a sweater :scared1:

Thank you both. Yeah, no matter my efforts with the kids being home this summer writing hasn't happened. I need to get back on the horse in a big way with our planning for our next trip too! Eek, less than 3 months and very little to show right now, lol. Ah well.

I too am glad DH let his senses return on the whole sweater deal. On the drive home that night I joked with him that he had been ready to pass out from heat and here he was buying a wool sweater.:lmao: He said he was thinking "long term". O... K... I told him to check eBay to see if other suckers, I mean guests had purchased them and were selling them after returning home.

Haha! I'm sure many people wondered what they were thinking once they got their credit card bill.

Wow, only 3 months away?! That's very exciting! I have always wanted to go to WDW in the Fall.

Illuminations is such a great way to finish your day! I am glad your family was able to pick up and enjoy themselves.

Cannot wait to read more.

I know! World Showcase gets us every time. I ended up buying some shower gel from France for my Grandma.

Thank you. Yes, I think once I understood that this trip simply wasn't going to go according to plan it got much better.
I love Illuminations as well, and still miss/remember the Tapestry of Nations Parade. That was the only parade I would carve time out of our schedule for. The music is awesome as well.
