Just when I think I have it figured out I think of another question. Can anyone tell me how fast passes and baby swap works? Do I get fastpasses for everyone (me, DH, DS5, DD3, DD1) even if they don't all ride? Can I get a fast pass for the baby? I assume she is somehow on our card, even though she is free? There are some things both of the older 2 might ride that the baby can't and a number of other things that the oldest might ride that the 3 year old can't. But since I think we all enter the line do I get fast passes for all of us? I would think so? I don't think there is anything my husband and I would want to ride that one of the kids can't. He is not a huge thrill seeker. I might want to ride TOT but I can go alone. I do love that one. Thanks in advance.

You need a fast pass for all that want to ride the ride who have paid admission to the park. Babies don't count. Also, you don't need to get fast passes for those who don't intend to ride the ride.

Child swap works in this way... You ride the ride while your spouse waits with your child. When the ride is done, you wait with your child and your spouse rides the ride. The catch is you can no do a child swap for a child who can ride the ride, but chooses not to.

Wait a minute...So you mean that if DS5 who is 47 inches doesn't want to do Test Track but Daddy and I do, then we can't baby swap? I didn't know that.

Also, we're a family of 4. DS3 is only 38 inches and DS5 is 47 inches so he can go on most rides. If we do a baby Swap and I stay with DS3 while DS5 and DH ride, when they get back, do I have to ride alone or can DS5 go again with me? I hate riding alone.

you go up to the CM with the baby and ask for a rider switch.
one of you rides with the older child while the other does something else with baby.
then the other goes through the fastpass line with the rider switch pass and the older child gets to ride again.

in your situation you can get two fastpasses for the ride for the first parent and older child. you will not need a fastpass for the second one because you will have the rider switch pass, which takes you through the fastpass line anyway.

If you have a child who meets the requirements but doesn't want to ride, ask the greeter CM what other options may be available.

As for mixing Fastpasses and Rider Switch (baby swap) passes, note that some people have been told that ALL riders must have fastpasses if any are to use the fastpass line for the first ride. Sounds weird, but I can see the point - so if you are a small group (say two adults and a young child), and you want to use Fastpass, don't bother with the Rider Switch pass. It doesn't seem to be consistently enforced though. Problem is, you probably won't know until it is too late.

This is how we work it for a family of 6 with 1 or 2 children sitting out on height restricted rides. For just one sitting out we do:

5 fastpasses (the baby doesn't have a park ticket)
4 ride while 1 sits out with the baby
get a switch pass (just ask for 1 at the FP entrance)
after the 4 ride then we take the 1 remaining FP and the switch pass up and 4 ride again (switching out the parent)

For Star Tours, everyone goes through the line then the child(ren) who can't ride wait with one adult on the boarding side of the ride. When the ride is over the waiting parent brings the non-riding children through the ride and hands off to the parent who just rode. Then the switched parent and the non-riding kids leave through the exit and wait on the other side for the ride to finish.
