Fast pass +

For a “ glitch “ there sure is a lot of people getting it. Disney has been pretty quiet since universal dropped masks. Maybe they are planning a knock out blow…

Can only hope. Maybe it is just a glitch..
I was in the glitch camp too, but it’s happening more and more.

Isn't anyone else concerned that the 60 day window is the same as dining reservations? Dining is way more important to me than a specific ride, but it'd seriously suck if I have to sacrifice one or the other when those are the only reason Disney can upcharge its hotels $150+/night over the competition.
What’s happening?

Nothing. People reading too much into MDE glitches that have been happening for months that make it look like u can book FP but u can’t. I’ve seen this on all three trips since the pandemic...sometimes take you to know before you go, sometimes an error page...

By the way guys, you won’t believe this, but I saw on the website it says “Coming Soon” on the space 220 webpage!!!! I’ve never noticed that before so obviously, that means an opening any day now!

The return of the physical fastpass distribution machines in the last few days is not a glitch.

What about when crowds increase? I can’t imagine they’d be fast moving then....

When the crowds increase, they'd be just as fast moving or maybe faster if/when they add more ride vehicles due to the crowds. The lines would just be longer.
The reason that they are fast moving now is that they aren't stopping the standby line to let 50 people from the fast pass line through.

Hate to be a downer, but the FP machines at Epcot that were recently posted by a blogger as “new” have been there for awhile, covered up.

Need to zoom in, but from last August, you can see the four stations with covers.

When we were there in October, I remember seeing FP kiosks covered so I am not surprised by this. A bit bummed though as I am clutching for any/all rumors that it is coming back soon lol.

I wouldn't read anything into the FP kiosks. Based on my own experience, and those of others on these boards, I would, however, read something into the increasing frequency of website "glitches." I would just be careful not to read too much into it.

It seems to me that Disney IT is actively working to make sure that they have the ability to reintegrate FP into MDE once they get the go ahead from the company. There have been reports that much of the programming infrastructure for FP was repurposed for park reservations. If so, there would probably be a decent amount of new programming necessary to accommodate both FPs and park reservations at the same time. I think that Disney IT is working on, and testing, that programming. And that work has seemingly increased in the last week or so.

What that tells me is that it is possible that Disney could announce the return of FP at virtually anytime. And maybe that Disney thinks there is at least a pretty good chance that that announcement will be coming soon. That's why IT is working so hard to get ready. And maybe why there have been so many glitches; when you're in a hurry, you make mistakes. But just because IT is prudently getting ready in case an announcement comes does not mean that an announcement is imminent. It just means that they have been told to be ready just in case.

My own guess is that we will get an announcement about FP returning, in some form or another, pretty soon. Once Disney decides to abandon full social distancing even for indoor queues, there is no reason they can't bring it back. But I'm not sure how close Disney is to feeling comfortable making that change. They have been cautious in this regard, relative to the competition.

Obviously, this is all just speculation.

My thoughts? If Disney is going to make an announcement to bring back fast pass or fireworks, it’s going to be before the 4th of July holiday. If not before then, they might wait till the 50th to draw in more people, which would highly upset me. Ratatouille is done, yet they are holding it from opening. Meanwhile universal just opened their best coaster ever.

I could be confusing this thread with the one in the rumors and news board. Sorry if I am.
(Forgive me if I do this incorrectly - a lot has changed since I last posted on here.)
I believe you might be referring to this from the "Paid FP options coming soon to WDW?" thread.
Read a report on Mickey Blog that FP+ machines were spotted at Epcot and MK. Some were turned on. :rolleyes1

Am I the only one that hasn't seen this "Glitch" FP+ tab yet? Using the web/Google Chrome-- Our trip is 45 days out.

Don't mind me, just my hourly check in on the thread to see when fastpass is coming back so I can plan a trip...

Seriously, though, do you think fastpass coming back will attract more or less people than shows/parades coming back?
