HOW CAN ONE OBTAIN EXTRA FAST PASSES FOR RIDES. I KNOW THAT THEY ONLY GIVE YOU 3-4 PASSES WITH EACH HOPPER PASS. IS THERE A TRICK TO THIS OR NOT REALLY. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS

P.S. I'LL BE GOING TO DISNEY AT EPCOT IN 1WK. ARE THERE ANY EXTRA SPECIAL EVENTS-(PARTIES, ETC.) I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT.

You can obtain as many fastpasses as you want with a hopper pass, the only thing is that after you get one fastpass, you can't get another one until you have used that one or there is a certain amount of time before you can get another one but it will tell you on your fastpass what time you can get another one.

When you get a Fastpass, it will have printed in the bottom the time you will be able to get another FastPass, for the same ride or other.

Epcot doesn't really have a lot of rides that use FastPass.

In Test Track and Mission:Space, there is also a "single rider line" which is faster than the regular line and doesn't need a Fastpass, but your party will be splitted to fill the empty spaces in the cars / spaceships.

There is a couple things we do that aren't really tricks but some people don't know or don't think of it.

1. One thing you can do is, if you have a large party and if not everyone wants or can ride something you can still get FP's with thier ticket so someone can go more than once. That worked well for us last time as there was 6 of us, three didn't like thrill rides so we always got FP with thier tickets and the other three could go twice.

2. Another thing not a whole lot of people know about is that you can use the FP's any time after the opening window. The FP's always say to come back (for example) 12:10 - 1:10. You can go anytime after 12:10. You don't have to get there and ride by 1:10. We even saved FP's and used them 2 or 3 days later. One thing I even thought about doing, but I didn't think about it until I got home, was go early in the morning and ride what you can without FP's all the while collecting as many FP's as you can. Then either go back to the resort and swim or eat lunch and come back that night and start using the FP's.

The main thing is to always have at least one FP in holding. And get another as soon as the time on the bottom of the ticket says you can get another or as soon as the window opens up to get another. Like say you get a FP for Spash, you go ride Thunder Mtn if there's not much of a wait, maybe hit the Country Bears or whatever. Now it's time to use that Splash FP. Before you get on Splash, go grab a FP for Jungle Cruise or whatever, then ride Splash.

Work it baby!

Oh, you need to turn your caps lock off. On discussion boards like here at the DIS, it's considered shouting. Plus, it's hard and obnoxious to read.:teeth:

Oh, Welcome to the DIS!

Jennymouse,

Are you sure you can use your fastpass anytime? I thought you had to use it during the 60 minute window they give you. For example, what if everyone decided to use their fastpass at 4pm-- wouldn't that cause a breakdown in the system? Just a question!

And a darn good question too, disneyag!;) All I know is that I heard someone mention it here on the boards before we left and had the need to test it out while we were there June 6-13 last month. I did it with Mission Space, Test Track, Kali River Rapids, Space Mtn and Splash and no one said a thing. The only time I thought it wasn't going to work was at Mission Space. I had 3 FP's that said to come back, can't remember the exact times, but it was something like 3:45-4:45. I held onto them for two days until we got back to Epcot. We got in the FP line early, about 10am and the CM at the door said I had to wait until 3:45. I said, these are from two days ago, he said, "Okay, go right in." So we :cool1: right on in! :teeth:

One word of warning on the Fastpasses. Have a plan. Make sure there is something you want to do nearby or that you will be able to return without going too far out of your way.

If you have nothing to do but wait for your fastpass time, (if you're impatient like my wife) you'll find yourself walking to the other side of the park and back looking for something without a line or hanging out in the shops and buying things you don't really need. Thanks to my wife we did both and have the blisters and t-shirts to show for it.

Keep in mind WDW developed fastpass to give you more time in the shops and restaurants, not more time on the rides.

As far as coming back anytime after the window, we did that too last week, but I think that policy will be coming to an end soon.

I have also used my Fastpasses in such a manner.. I went to MK on an Early entry day.... did all of the rides and collected FP's for each one I rode.. as the return times were quite early... I had about 6 of em... then went about my business for the day.. returned to the park in the evening when it was PACKED and just strolled onto each ride I had FP for as I wanted to... no questions from the CM's..... it was so cool... There is NOTHING on the FP that says you MUSt use it within the window time.. JUST that you CANNOT use it before the Window time opens up! So.. Enjoy!!

I hsd a FP for WWTBAM and they wouldn't accept it after the window. But that may because this has a seating limit and they were full. Haven't had a problem at other rides.

When we were there last week, the time printed at the bottom of the fastpass was 5 minutes after the fastpass becomes active. So if the fastpass says to return between 1 and 2, the time printed to get another fastpass is 1:05 p.m. Then you can get your next fastpass before you go on the first ride.

As far as going after the time allowed, the CMS don't have to let you on, but they usually do. It's really set up to just let people on late when rides break down, etc.

I would imagine if a lot of people start coming back after their window closes they'll have to change the rule, because the system is based on x number of people returning at a given time. If twice as many people show up as tickets were issued for that time, that will seriously curtail the effectiveness of the FP system. After all, who wants a FastPass line as long as a standby line?JMHO

this is going to be our first trip to disney since FP was started....i know a looonng time  , but the more i read, the more  i get. you all are saying i can hold lots of FPs at one time, whereas i thought you could hold a max of 2. is that what CM's will tell you and only us DISer's know this secret?? i guess the worst that can happen is put your ticket in and the FP machine will tell you "no, not yet"....

To the previous posters, please do not take this personally. I'm sure you are not fully aware of the fastpass guidelines and that you encountered several very nice CMs that were willing to let you use expired passes. However I am very concerned that this thread will send the wrong message to it's readers and ill advise
them that they are able to obtain any fastpass they can and use that pass any time. The Facts - The using of fastpasses after they have expired is an abuse of the system. Fastpasses due expire. They are only good for a one hour window of time as printed on the pass and only for the day the pass was issued. The pass is not good before the shown time, after the shown time and certainly not the next day or any day there after. Please people I implore you, don't abuse the system. I love
the fastpass system and use it as it was intended at every opportunity. I am very concerned about what I'm reading in this thread and what I have read on other sights that Disney is scaling back the fastpass system. They have already closed
fastpass as several attractions at Disneyland. I hope that is is only temporary. I also hope that it is not because of abuse of the system.

Yes, I think everybody was lucky to encounter very nice CMs who have let them in after their FP window has ended, and perhaps it wasn't busy. I know that there was one time that we genuinely lost track of time, returned past the end time and have been cautioned by the CM. They let us in, but they said that generally they want to enforce the FP window. We've also been in situations where the rides have broken down while we were on them and they have honored our FPs for "anytime" during our stay. I see those as special circumstances, though, and we didn't go around collecting FPs to use collectively later in the day.

So...I wouldn't really plan a strategy around it, and if you do, I wouldn't hassle the CM as if it's your right to be let in. This strategy would definitely need to be addressed if EVERYBODY did this - think about it, if everybody started collecting FPs for use later in the day, that would be a huge backlog of dated FPs. It seems like that would create longer lines, thus defeating the whole purpose of FPs.

;) I agree that in order for the system to work correctly, and continue to be available, we need to adhere to the rules of the system. I think an hour is more than enough time to make your way back to your "fastpass" attraction. I love "fastpass" and would hate to see anything happen to it if abuse makes the process moot..............

:hyper:

Straight from the mouse's mouth. This is from the Disneyland website:

"You are assigned a one-hour window of time (for example, 1:10 p.m. - 2:10 p.m.) You can board the attraction anytime during that one-hour window".

People getting to use their FP's after the window have been lucky.

On nice thing that happenend to us last year at MK was when we got FP's at Jungle Cruise & Haunted Mansion the time at the bottom said we were eligible for another FP in 1 minute. Usually this is at least an hour. I was told by someone on this board that those attractions sometimes do give out 'bonus' FP's like that. I don't know if that still occurs but it was great for us. We had FP's to 4 attractions at once.

Great post! Thank you.

Thanks for posting what several of us were thinking txdznydude!

To the OP-I think you're misunderstanding something. You can only have one fastpass per parkhopper-You can't stick one ticket in the Tower of Terror machine and get 4 fastpasses on that one ticket. You have to stick each persons ticket in to get their fastpass. Does that make sense? HTH!

The rides at DL that have had fastpass taken out did not need fatpass to begin with. I'm there often enough to know how the lines for those rides work. With fastpass, they were consistantly running with 30 minute waits. Without fastpass, they've been 15 minutes and under.
