A friend of mine just got back from WDW and she said next time she goes she would purchase a card that gave you a certain amount of fast passes on it. I said I didn't know of any card like this that you could purchase. Is this something new they have now? She said she saw several people with these passes. I have never heard of anything like this but maybe I have not been paying attention. Any help would be much appreciated.

I haven't heard of this but I'm going to Disney in 3 weeks ... I'd LOVE to know if it exists! I'm NOT a fan of Fast Pass but I'd be a fool not to use it since everyone else does!

What she's talking about are the dream passes Disney is giving out for the Year of a Million Dreams celebration.:rotfl: Unfortunately, you can't buy those. CMs randomly pick families to give them to. They come with a little lanyard to be worn around the neck, so yes you see quite a few people walking around with them, but unfortunately only certain families get them. I usually go several times a year and have yet to be picked to receive one.

Yup.

If you go on your birthday next year (2009) you can get up to five of those cards for you and your family/friends.

Alternative birthday gifts include free admission (recommended only for vacations of 3 days or less or vacations starting on your birthday) or a (approx. $75.) dollar value gift card valid for selected mostly non-food items sold in the parks.

Thanks for the info aubriee and robo. I hadn't heard of those but that is what she was talking about she described it just like the picture that robo posted. Thanks again.

Just to be a little more specific, CMs do not randomly pick families or anything like that. There is a computer that randomly picks a location and an "event" (like the 5th car set returning at Space Mountain after 9:30am, or the 10th person entering the third Festival of the Lion King showing), along with a prize. One of the prizes are the Dream Fastpasses. CMs don't get to make a decision (although they might be a bit liberal giving them out - if you have family members that weren't on the ride and they have extras, they may give them to you). The reason you see families usually with them is because they happen to be together when the prize was awarded.

You CANNOT currently purchase any sort of Fastpass from Disney.

It is expected that the Dream Fastpasses will be replaced with the Birthday Fastpasses for the new celebration, but again, you CANNOT purchase them. A person who's birthday is that particular day and already has admission to the park can opt for the Birthday Fastpass for themselves and up to 5 (I believe) family members. They will probably take the same form.

Now, at Universal Studios Florida, you CAN purchase a front of the line pass...

We were sooooo excited to win these...even though the park was quiet and most of the rides were under a 10 minute wait anyway.
