One of our favorite shopping trips this time of the year is a visit to our area Farmers Market. We begin the season, in May, by buying plants for our garden. Yesterday, we bought new red potatoes, sugar snap peas and strawberries! They were not only reasonably priced but tasted so good!
We love fresh vegetables and we like giving our money straight to the grower.
If there are any markets or stands in your area stop by, you won't be sorry!

I love going to the farmer's market. Tomorrow while I am in Charlotte I hope to stop at one there.

I HATE going to supermarkets or grocery stores, but I LOVE farmer's markets and open air markets! I love the fresh produce, baked goods, canned goods, meats, flowers everything! I love fresh produce, period. When I think about all the things going on in the world today I feel so fortunate, so blessed, so very thankful, that I am able to participate in such things. :Pinkbounc

Yes, Yes-please do frequent the Farmer's markets. We don't have any down here, but my father runs one in Massachusetts. When I talk to him on Sundays and he tells me about all the very fresh veggies there, my mouth waters!

We have one here, but I was very disappointed when I went last weekend for the first time. There were only about 4 diff farmers there and they had really limited produce...

BUT

I am determined to return and hope I just hit it on an off week. I love to support the local farmers.

I wish I was still in a big area with a big farmers market, like Dallas and Ft Worth have.

Great advice for fresh foods and good prices. Plus, you help the farms in your area. You can't go wrong.

Can you share the name of this farm? I've been thinking of joining a Community Sponsored Agric program...I wonder if your father's farm does this sort of thing?:)

Better tasting, more exotic variety, and the supporting of local growers...it's a win-win.:)
