FAQ about the Disney Dining Plan

By any chance id you treat a guest to a meal who was not on your plan by paying for their meal using your credits? Anyone else recently have any experience in doing this?

We just did last week and it wasn't a problem at all. We were honest about it (Kona Cafe) and they said no problem.

Did this in October at least 3 times, 2 TS and one CS that I can remember. No problems or questions asked.

Just got back - all credits were pooled. ~ Jaymie

All credits are pooled, but each Key To The World says who is on the plan. Mine said 2A 2C....meaning 2 Adults and 2 Children. My 5 year old went out with my sister one night and they took her card and had no problems using it for her meal. Also, like I just said, we paid for a friends meal one night, with no problem. We also shared meals and used only one credit...so there aren't too many limits on the plan.

i am going later fall 2006 and don't think i will do the dining program again.
it wil be at $38. a person and i stay at all stars sports. they have a higher tax rate which will put the program at about $41 a day for me.

since i am going solo, i don't want to plan my parks around the food this time. that is what i did in october when i went solo and it kind of zapped the fun out of it for me.

Can't remember if I asked this already (head is spinning with all the wrapping, shopping, baking, etc.), but are the adult CS meals big enough to share with a 3 yo or a 10 yo? I was thinking my 10 yo could split hers with the 3 yo and conserve some credits. They aren't light eaters, but they don't eat a lot either. I have a plan mapped out (using a calculator from the DIS) for using the Dp but I can't post attachments. I wanted to stretch out some credits to cover almost all the meals and do an extra TS meal. I was thinking of DD10 sharing some CS meals w/ DD3 (so we can use some breakfast) and also having DD10 order from the kids menu at the few non-buffet TS we'll be at and paying for the kid's meals on 2-3 occaisions so we can get a few other TS credits. How does that sound?

It depends on which CS you go to.. but I would say yes overall! We did this many, many times on our last trip.

(I apologize if this question is already in this thread. 81 pages is a lot of posts to look through (even using Search).)

Understanding that it might end up costing me money, can you use table service credits for a counter service meal in a pinch? If we're towards the end of our stay and haven't made an ADR for that day and can't get in for a TS meal anywhere, can we go the CS route and use a TS credit to "pay" for it?

Thanks. -- Rob

no, can't trade ts for cs.

i went in october and it was not allowed then.

from what i have read on this thread, the policy is still the same, no trade offs of ts for cs.

We went in November and used ts for cs at Pop Century food court.

i learn something new everyday.

what a difference a month makes.

glad you were able to use your ts up. its such a waste after you pay for them when you can't use them.

i used up my snacks on the last day by getting 7 bottles of water.
what a chore to haul that many around..........and the stands to not give bags. had to shop at mousegears to get the needed bag for my water.

that water can get very heavy especially when it is hot and humid out !!

We did the same thing on our last day - but got 3 waters, a soda, 3 ice creams, and 2-3 chips (I guess we had a lot of snack credits left over!), but the snack stand we were at in Downtown Disney did give us bags. The woman was very nice about it.

:wave2: Hi Macraven!

Just doing some Dising as I avoid preparing for a house full of people in a couple hours. DH invited half the people he works with so we could have 20-25 people, instead of the 8-10 we originally thought.

Hope you have a great holiday!

merry christmas all.......

i do burger king, don't cook today........and forgot to buy a turkey....oops.

sure do wish wendys or mcdonalds were open.

hoping no one here got coal in their stockings this morning.....that would NOT be kewl.... :rolleyes1

Just got back from our Christmas trip (Dec. 20-26) and by last day had to use 5 TS credits. We used 3 at Planet Hollywood for early lunch, but did not have time to use last 2 before taking Magical Express to airport. We were able to trade the last 2 TS for CS meals at the Pop Century food court. So we took 2 meals to go. I know that using TS for CS is not a wise move but it was better than losing them.

On another topic - we had no problems sharing meals. Way too much food!!!!

Great value for counter service is Cosmic Rays' ribs and chicken meal (half baked chicken and ribs with veggies) 2 of these fed 4 people.

Will post dining report later.

I love the "dining reviews" as we are going in about three weeks and love to hear all the info.....rest up and then hurry and post :rotfl: thanks

I am not sure if this has been covered yet... Can you use the dining plan for holidays? I am planning a trip over next christmas and new years, I would like to use the plan and am wondering if you can use it for say christmas dinner or one of the special new years meals?

What a great thread!!! I am considering the dining plan for our upcoming trip in June! One quick question - is everyone's meal plan on their own room card? I wouldn't want my youngest DD carrying around her room card (for early entry, etc) and it have her meal points in case she would lose it?? Or, are all the "points" on one card (like on my card or DH's card)??

Sorry if that sounds confusing!

They are all pooled together on one card. For example, if there are 2 people in your party and you are staying for 7 nights, 2x7=14, so you would have 14 TS credits, 14, CS credits and 14 snacks. You only have to present one card from your party, it doesn't matter which one, and then you are given a receipt showing how many Table Service, Counter Service or Snacks you have left. I would highly recommend the DP!! It was great!!!
