FAQ - 2010 DDP, DxDP and QSDP Everything you always wanted to know

Then you'll need to upgrade them to an adult or supplement their meals. You cannot get an adult meal with a child's credit.

I wanted to see if the credits for kids and adults are lumped together. I went a year ago on the regular dining plan and the CS were all lumped together (4 and an 8 year old). This year I am going on the QSDP and wanted to see if they separate out kids meals vs. adult meals.

I'm interested in this info too. My kid got so sick of hot dogs and chicken nuggets/fingers/strips last trip!

There's a thread somewhere with a list of places without a kid's meal.

If you have a child 9 and under than you need to order a kid's meal, unless there isn't one.

Disney's rules are you must use credits for which you paid a child's price (yes, including on free dining) to purchase meals from the children's menu, unless the restaurant has no children's menu. The DIS has a rule against discussing ways to get around the clearly stated rules of WDW, and on this board it applies to the dining plan.

There's options - restaurants with no children's menu, and upgrading your child to the adult dining plan ( you must register the child as 10 years old and buy an adult park ticket).

It's possible this questions has already been asked and if that's the case I apologize, but what about room service/private dining? Is that covered by the dining plan?

Yes, where available. It's 2 TS per meal ordered, with the same entitlements (entree, dessert, and beverage on DDP; add an appetizer for DxDP). Gratuities and service charges are included.

Pizza delivery is 2 adult TS per pizza, which includes 2 beverages and 2 desserts (plus 2 portions of salad for DxDP). Gratuities and service charges are included.

Really two credits? Even for breakfast? Because the breakfast room service menu at GF seems to be the same as the breakfast menu for Grand Floridian Cafe. Is it just because it's delivered to your door? Hmmm thanks for the information

I have a friend who recently returned from Disney and participated in the dining plan. She said that the QS meals were not divided between adults and children on her receipts. She had to keep track of how many adult and how many children credits she had left herself. She said that a CM said that it didn't matter, but she still kept track on a small notebook she carried with her.

On my next trip, I'm travelling with my mom and my three children. We're all staying in the same room, so all of our credits will be on our kttk cards. We had planned to split up on different days to accomodate the kids' different interests. If the difference between kids and adult QS is not tracked on receipts, I would have to ask my Mom to keep track I guess. Sounds like a pain. I thought that Disney had begun separating credits long ago. Anyone know what is really going on with the credits. How has everyone else dealt with this, especially when you split up?

We are planning an August trip with 2 rooms at ASMv and have upgraded the QSDP. My question is, do we still get the refillable mugs?? Sorry if this was already asked! I quickly looked through the thread and couldn't find the answer. Thanks

Hi, With the DDP, DIsney Dining Plan, you do NOT get the mug. The mug is free with teh QSDP and the Deluxe DDP. Hope this helps. You can still buy one for around $12.99......That is what we plan to do because even at $12.99, it is still cheaper than paying OOP for drinks!

I know it is listed here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it??? What are the CS resturants that don't have a kids menu?

Thanks

I moved your question to the dining plan FAQ/Sticky. The CS restaurants without kids menus are listed in post #5 of this thread, under the heading Children's Meals and Character Meal Questions.

Also, if you look back a few posts, there is a post that has all of the children's menus from all park CS locations.

Does anyone know if the milkshakes at the Sci Fi Dine in Theatre are included as a beverage on the Dining Plan? I hear they have great milkshakes and it would be wonderful if they were already paid for....if not I'm getting one anyway!

I'm going to be sitting down with family this week to explain how the regular dining plan works. None of them have ever been before and the dining plan is causing a TON of confusion.

I was planning on showing them my receipts from last Sept for a Table Service meal, a Quick Service meal as well as a snack and walking them through the whole process.

My question is are the Quick Service meals still all pooled together or are they separated into child/adult? Last year they were all pooled but I don't want to confuse anyone further by explaining to/showing them a receipt and telling them to keep track of kid/adult meals on their own if it's broken down now.

I hope this makes sense and thanks for any help.

They are not separated by child/adult. However, you may only order what your card says so if you have 2 adults and one child and you attempt to order 3 adult CS meals they will tell you you have to order a child's meal and can only order 2 adult meals. I hope that made sense!
