Fantasyland strategy

My son's girlfriend and her 3yo daughter will be joining us for one day of our trip; the last Thursday of August. They will not have EE so I am wondering what the best time would be to do the Fantasyland rides.

That's a hard one. Since it will be an EE day, the lines will already be pretty long by the time you get there. I would say to get to the park at opening and hit FL right away, as it will only get worse throughout the day.

Do Fantasyland first thing--lines won't be that long actually because the early entry people start to filter out to other areas as soon as they can--the lines are practically non-existant. The last 3 Saturdays (EE days) I've been to DL and gone straight to FL and there were no lines.

If I wanted to do every ride in Fantasyland, any tips on which order to do them in? I planned to do Peter Pan first (well, second if Matterhorn is a Fantasyland ride!), then what?

The Matterhorn is a Fantasyland ride. Just work your way around. If you get there first thing, often the fantasyland rides don't open until the official opening time (or an hour later anyway), you should be fine!

Doing Peter Pan first is a good idea. We did it twice in a row last week when we had EE and by the second time, there was already a decent line forming. The wait was no less than 30 minutes the rest of the time we were there. My daughter wanted to ride it again before we left. I thought I would try during the parade, because I thought it would clear out a little bit. Not at all! We waited almost an hour. I did notice that the other Fantasyland rides seemed better around 5-6. I think people were eating or resting up before coming back later.

We also noticed a dip in fantasyland queues around 2PM - many parents with smaller children take them our for a nap or break time mid afternoon, so that might be worth a look.

Peter Pan is definitely the one to do first as it is the only one that had really significant queues the whole time we were there. Matterhorn also had queues, but there were two of these and seemed to move quite fast.

Do you have EE for that morning? If so, you could get in line for PP and have them meet you there when they enter the park. If you have cell phones, she could call and tell you where she is. Also, when they board the ride, you could go to the next one, say Dumbo, and get in line. Might help save a little time. Good Luck!

Dumbo lines can get long and move slow; it's also out in the hot sun, so do it early. Lines for teacups, Pinocchio, and Snow White often aren't as bad as some of the other attractions, so they can wait. Small World can usually wait too since it has a faster flow rate. It's also a long ride, so is nice when you want to sit for a spell.

Storybook Land Canal Boats
Tea cups
Alice In Wonderland
Casey Junior Circus Train
King Arthurs Carousel
Snow White
Pinnochio

I think I got them all, we noticed that Pinnochio and Snow White were the least popular with the shortest lines all day.

I love them both! I would do the circus train first for an overview of the sites you'll see more indepth on the Storybook Land Canals.

I knew I was forgetting someone! I will edit my original post. I would always do the Storybook Land Canal Boats before the Casey Junior Circus Train, the line for the Canal Boats can get really long, whereas a lot of adults shy away from riding the circus train, especially in the cages, and it seems to be mostly kids on it these days, maybe because of the Disneyland Railroad.
