Fantasy fans: April 7, 2012

..... I will be eating dinner with my family hopefully in the Enchanted Garden restaurant with wonderful new friends that DCL has seated with us.

Twas 2 weeks before Cruising and all through the house
Not a suitcase was empty for going to see the Mouse.
The women were all snuggled in their sun-tanning beds
In hopes of not burning the top of their heads.
Mama in her sweatshirt and I in my Reds cap
Had just settled down with a PC on my lap.

Hi everyone, we are all excited, only 4 sleeps to go until we fly out. DD has begun packing but I usually leave it until the day before. All the kids have pirate costumes (as last time the Magic didnt have anything over a kids size 10 for DD or the boys). I actually bought an extra costume for DS (12) (I forgot he had one from his performance in "Shrek the Musical" in Dec in his Musical theatre class) so managed to convince DH to try it on! It fits him beautifully, so I think I may have tricked him into wearing it on pirate night Mawhahaahaaa!!
Children & DH are now on holidays so now its time for last minute shopping, getting the car serviced, stopping the mail & popping the cat into the cattery (she will not be a happy camper! 4 weeks in "Jail"!!).
Lovely to see tall the teachers on this board. Although I am not a school teacher, I am a dancing teacher & have run a dance studio here for nearly 25 years. I now teach mainly the under 6 classes (tap, jazz & ballet), as well as under 4 "fairy Ballet". As this week is my last week of teaching for 4 weeks, we are having Disney party classes at dancing. I asked them all to come dressed in their fav, Disney outfits & we will do classes to Disney Music. I think I will cry!!! I might be too excited to dance!!!

What a cute little poem! I had a mouse run across my classroom last week, no kids there yet, and it was quite a shock! The maintenance person laughed and said Mickey was coming to see me!!! Still not accepting the fact that I LOVE Mickey yet this early morning visitor bothered me throughout the day! We hope to be seated with you in the Enchanted Court!!!!

That being said, maybe it makes sense to have a list of people's intentions for tastings on post #3. For that matter, we are intending to get tickets for Wine, Margarita and Champagne tasting - see me lining up for these tickets at Guest Services once on board.

Just wondering who we'll see at the tastings. Anyone decided upon which ones they'd go to?

How exciting it's all getting. The cases came out of the loft this morning and are currently sitting in my bath only place for them! I finished the last minute shopping today and started the housework. I am almost done with the Fe gifts for you guys and will defiantly need the 9hr flight on Friday to catch up with myself, as we have a busy 4 days ahead of us...I say us...I mean me!

Look forward to meeting you on the 7th onwards, and I shall try and post while on the MV if I fond a free wifi spot in port!

I have heard that the main bed in the cabins sit up higher so you can put your cases under the bed. Have a great trip and thanks for warming up the Fantasy for us. See you on the 7th.

Oh my gosh, my DD is sick AGAIN! We just got over being sick (for the first time this school year, I might add) and here we go again less than a week after recovering! To make matters worse, today is her birthday!

Please keep your fingers crossed that we have another speedy recovery and that we stay well from here on out! Illness was not factored into my "to do" list!

Speedy recovery wishes and Happy Birthday wishes as well to your DD! This is what I fear the most ( aside from a late Amtrak train making us miss our cruise). We didn't get trip insurance and I fear that one of us will develop the dreaded stomach bug for the cruise. I am on lockdown mode with my 3 year old, but have to send the two teens to school. Hubby is a Pharmacist, so Who knows what he could bring home to us! Wishing that no one else in your family gets sick before or during your cruise

We will definitely be doing the beer and champagne tastings. Not sure about margarita and wine though. We had a great time at the tequila tasting last time and we did learn a lot!

itutorfortravel - So sorry your DD is sick! I hope she has a speedy recovery! I am keeping the hand sanitizer on the counter so we use it often! I will lose my mind if anyone gets sick!! Hope she can rally and have a happy birthday!

I got our FE gifts done and we finished our magnets last night!!! I am so excited! Just a week and a half until we leave! We cannot wait! We plan to get seriously packed this weekend. We have our suitcases open and have started gathering things. The playroom is a mess, thanks to six suitcases and four DD's clothing, shoes, etc!!!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes for my DD's birthday and for getting well!

As the day has progressed, she has been feeling better. Well enough to open presents and eat cake, so the day has not been a total loss.

Took her to the doctor and they suspect a sinus infection...rapid strep test was negative but they'll culture it overnight and let me know tomorrow about that. The good news is that the medicine they gave me will treat both the sinus infection and the strep, so we should be good to go!

For our other cruises I have been able to hound her about keeping her hands clean, staying out of people's faces, etc. because, as I've told her "you don't want to get sick before our Disney cruise!" This time I can't do that since we're not telling her until the day we board! She does know we're going to Kennedy Space Center so I've just been telling her how she needs to get better before spring break so we can go somewhere and have fun. So hopefully she'll heed that warning...I honestly don't think she suspects a thing. I'm so excited to tell her! I don't think I will sleep a wink the night before!!!

Just got my FE today in the mail from a person from whom I have purchased FE's in the past. It's SO cute! Can't wait to hang it outside the cabin. I also have a friend who makes adorable custom flip flops and I've ordered some of those from her for the trip as well. When we went on our Christmas cruise, she found really cute Christmas Mickey head ribbon and made DD and I some flip flops. This time I found some Mickey head ribbon with bunny ears on the Mickey heads and she's using that to make them. I can't wait to see them! So you'll know it's us by our feet - LOL.

Hi everyone, still here, just crazy busy!

I will add to the group of teachers- I am a Montessori teacher at a small private school with 21 three to six year olds (preschool and kindergarten), 15 of which are boys this year! I have only ever taught Montessori but I have taught all the way up through 6th grade and have loved every day of it all!

Between my two kids activities, work and travel, we have barely started the whole packing adventure. My daughter does All Star cheer and her last comp is next weekend. Plus, we went to Disney World last weekend for a long St. Patrick's day weekend, traveling for other comps and a quick trip down for the Princess 1/2 marathon= a busy past two months! Needless to say, we just keep circulating the clothes through the suitcases.

We are very laid back travelers so most of our packing is quick- all the princess dresses and costumes you can fit, swim suits, and I suppose I will have to grab a few things for me too.

I can't figure out how to post a pic of our closet on last year's Disney Dream Easter cruise so I will try and post it on the Facebook page.

How old is your daughter? My daughter (12) also does competitive cheer so they my hit it off

Made some progress yesterday but still have so much left to do!

DD's clothes are packed minus her shoes and the "day bag" that I'm packing for the trip down to FL. I'm not dragging the cruise suitcase in and out of the hotel, I want it put in the car and left there till we get to the port. So I'm packing a separate, smaller bag.

I also packed up my FE gifts and some of the "housekeeping" things I bring. I typically pack one box with that sort of stuff in it and then just slap a luggage tag on it. Works really well! The box either gets tossed at the end of the trip or used to pack souvenirs.

I have started going through my own clothes now. I think I am pretty well set. I may have a couple last minute things to get but nothing major. I am hoping by Friday to have my bag packed as well, including anything I have yet to buy.

I've almost washed all of DH's clothes that he wants to take. Hopefully he will start packing his bag this weekend.

Can't believe we are going on the Fantasy next week!

Kimberley, hope your daughter is feeling better. had a sinus infection myself for 2 weeks and an antibiotic knocked it out for a week and then still lingering. Can't believe I will ever be better in time to sail! Does take awile to clear up.
Almost done choosing clothes and shoes! Only this weekend to pack and then back to work for 4 days and sail!!!!!! Oh, forgot spending night before at Hyatt in the airport.
