How many of you are surprising your kids again?

My kids have known for well over a year since our last cruise on the Dream but just this last week, they've been counting down the days/sleeps with anticipation.

We just secured our dogsitter today, so that helps relieve some of our anxiety. We fly into Orlando on Wednesday and will be at the Magic Kingdom and Typhoon Lagoon on Thursday and Friday. We are staying in one of the Downtown Disney resort hotels.

We still haven't booked our hotel for the night of our return from the cruise. We fly out on Sunday evening and are wondering what to do? Maybe stay in Cocoa Beach, visit KSC, go outlet shopping??

We are surprising our DD and cannot wait!!! Only 5 days till the big reveal

DD was not very excited at first about the KSC visit we have planned for Friday. We told her our vacation would be that and finding a beach somewhere. DH is so clever, when she asked yesterday what else we would be doing he said "well, we don't want to give away all the surprises, but we might also be able to find a water attraction somewhere"...and then he told her that after this "adventure trip" she would probably come back saying that this was the best vacation ever! So we are not fibbing, we're just not giving all the details and I honestly don't think she suspects a thing!

She came down this morning all giddy about leaving for FL in a few days, so the excitement is mounting and she doesn't even know we are going on the cruise!

This is going to be a busy week for her...practice end of grade tests today, field day tomorrow, and spring party on Thursday. Hopefully enough distractions to keep her mind from wondering about the things I'm putting in the suitcases.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone soon! DD will be looking forward to making some new friends in the clubs and I'm hoping DH and I will be able to join the group on some of the nightclub meet and greets. Melody, we're on the same deck, so maybe we'll even run into each other in the corridor! Looking forward to it!

My DD (11) also cheers! Maybe they can do something special for the talent show. Can't wait to meet everyone!

Getting excited!

OK ... the luggage is out today. Time for some serious packing. We are taking the kids out of school a bit early on Friday to catch the plane. SNA - DFW - MCO. They know what's happening. We did this last year at Easter time on the Dream with some time at the parks as well. Staying overnight at the Hyatt and getting to the ship mid-day on Saturday. Sorry we did not get in on any of the fun ... so busy the last few weeks with the business, our son's Eagle Court of Honor, and our dog. She will have a place to stay while we sail .... Whew!

Looking forward to a week of relaxation. DD12 (almost 13) going to Edge and DS16 going to Vibe! They know the routine ... may not see them much ... but that's OK for us!

Can't wait!

That is a great idea. My daughter loves hanging in the clubs, so we will have to make sure we connect them! Her name is Alyssa. Is your daughter on facebook? Alyssa does not have e-mail but she recently joined facebook.

Welcome cwbagne! We have a granddaughter just turned 13 travelling with us. She will also be in the Vibe. She is a little nervous since all other cruises she has been in a sign in/out children's club. A little too much freedom is a scarey thing.
We will definetly be at the pre-muster drill meet at Waves Bar.

One of my daughters is a competitive tumbler, not a cheerleader. Her coach will be wanting her to stay conditioned while we are away. So don't be surprised to see a girl cartwheeling, flipping and handspringing in the hallways!

Sounds like these girls will all get along really well. My daughter does tumbling for cheer although not competitively.

Good morning Fantasy Fans!

I stayed up until 4am finishing my magnets and packing. I'm still not done though. We fly out to Orlando early Wednesday morning. Kids clothes are taking more space since they're getting bigger and are more fashion conscious. These seven day cruises mean more clothes even with a laundering mid-cruise.

Now we debating whether or not to bring all the snorkel gear which is quite bulky. Packing can be so tasking!

We have one suitcase for DW & I, one suitcase for DD(16) & DD(12), and one suitcase for shoes. Good thing we are driving. We are leaving Thursday night at 3 am. I remember driving to WDW a couple of years ago and the highways are packed on Friday for Easter weekend. Trying to get thru Atlanta by 10 am. Will have time to relax and swim at the Radisson at Port Canaveral on Friday afternoon.

We have one suitcase for DW & I, one suitcase for DD(16) & DD(12), and one suitcase for shoes. Good thing we are driving. We are leaving Thursday night at 3 am.

Drive safely, that's a long way to come.

I honestly don't know how others can pack more lightly. My wife isn't a Diana Ross with costume changes but we are at four suitcases and two rollerboards... so far!

Have to do our last minute laundry this afternoon.
