We left Port Canaveral around 10:30am on Saturday and our 12 hour ride turned into a 15 hour ride! We were stuck in terrible traffic in GA and SC. I was lucky to have my Kindle but my poor DH was miserable driving for so long! (The girls and I did offer to drive!)
Thanks so much to all for the wonderful magnets and the thoughtful FE gifts! We used our luggage tags on our bags that we toted around the ship and on excursions. They were great! The gum and hand sanitizer continue to be favorite gifts! The candy, personalized candy bars and jellybeans were big hits too! The cute little canvas bags for each girl...so nice! The pirate barrette was used on Pirate Night! Thank you!!! The mickey mouse barrette is precious too! All the word searches came in handy for the ride home and are one of our favorite things. Thanks also for all the cool decks of cards (we play a lot of rummy), glow sticks, postcards, and the British flag candies were really cool! I had to break into the Cadbury eggs....yum!!!! We also loved the bookmarks (my girls and I love to read!) and the confetti in each bag...so cute!! Thank you also for the wonderful personalized photo album with the cool bottle cap!!! How special!!! My 7 year old loved the "slinky" we got in one of the bags! Thank you also for the "Disney Eggs"! We hung them on our FE and left them there as a decoration for the entire trip!! We loved our "memory cards" so we can write down our favorite things and not forget! Thank you also for the Fantasy pencils, the cool erasers (they loved those!), the note pads and very nice "to do list"! (With my DD graduating, we have much to do, so I will use it!!) We also love the Fantasy key chains with Dumbo (on my key ring already!) and the little floating chicks and bunnies. They will end up in our pool or the bathtub. And one of our favorites to carry it all home in, The Mickey Mouse bag from Disney! Holy Moly...what a surprise that was!! So cool!!! My kids were so sweet...they left everything in our FE until I could see it all. I wish I had taken pictures as we received them! I have seen other Dis'ers to that and I wish I had too! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
My DH, all four DD's and I did attempt to go to Waves Bar for the meet and greet on the first day. We were on the port side of the ship, aft, and saw that there was a bar service for Waves. No one was there so we left. I didn't realize that we should have gone on the starboard side and went around inside. I am sad we missed it, but I did get to meet a few of you! I can't believe I still didn't get to meet you, Kimberly! I was going to give you a call but I never got to it! Maybe if we cruise again a third time together...three times is a charm!!!
Thanks again to Christopher for the very convenient map for FE/magnet exchanges and for organizing everything. We did make it to a few late night meetings but didn't see anyone. By the time we got through dinner (late seating, which I love!!!), and got the kids settled where they wanted to be, it was after 11pm! We did stay out late a few times...after 1pm and on Wed. night we were out until 3am!!! It is so cool to explore the ship that late! Great pictures of the public spaces!!
I hope everyone had a great trip and is settled back into reality! I have finally finished laundry, but it will be days before I get all the clothes put away! I do a little bit each day. I am still looking over the Navigators, I printed a ton of pictures yesterday and I love watching the video that I took. I got footage of Crush having a conversation with my DD (15). That was great!
Oh and njdisneylovr - I can't believe that cute little girl we saw at Residence Inn, fell and got hurt on the ship! Hope she is ok! My DD's (15) and (18) were disappointed that they didn't get to meet any other teens with our group. My DD (18) was not allowed in the Vibe due to her age, even though she is still in high school. She was very disappointed and my DD (15) and our friends' boys (16) and (13), opted not to do the Vibe to spend time with her. It was a huge bummer for all of us. This trip was for her and her favorite thing is meeting kids in the clubs. The 18-21 club meets in the Irish Pub and is not as organized. It should really be for college age kids, not high schoolers. Anyway, they did not get to meet your kids, the other girls that posted here or the Australian boys that they were looking forward to meeting!!!
Take care and for those that rebooked....Happy Sailing!!! I couldn't rebook due to the fact that DD will be in college and I can't imagine going without her!!!
