Great news! Our extrememly generous donor is paying for ALL FBR disers to have a wristband!! I am going by the list under the FE groups that says there are 233 people on our cruise meet. If your name is not on there please let me know so we can count you and your family in the numbers. We are planning to order monday, I am on my phone (at a gymnastics meet in alabama, lol!) til tonight, so will update when i'm back in front of a computer.

***Please note the size for the child band, dh says the site indicated that they are for 3-5 yo...just double check. I am planning to measure the big part of my kids' hand to make sure it is the same or smaller than the measurements when folded up like you would when putting on a bracelet/wristband.

Yay! Can't wait to see everyone sporting these!

Has anybody researched what the crowds should be like at the parks after the cruise?

You've got it right - it will be very busy. It's not going to stop me tho Will be driving straight from the port to Epcot on Sat. Sun will be MK before noon, take a break at the hotel, and back for EveMH - open til 1am! Monday will be resort pool time and then DTD - ME pick up at 5:45p so almost have a full day.

We may even decide to do Disney Quest or a water park as we have never done any of those.

DH & I still find DQ lotsa fun - we spend about 2.5hrs there per visit but that is with the WPFNM option...I'd be hesitant to pay $80 cash for it. Done BB & TL and I thought I'd plan half days for it but DH liked them both so much we ended up staying pretty much the whole day. Hope you have a fab time, whatever you decide!

Don't forget to try the Butterbeer! Also, if you don't fancy the ride part of Harry Potter, still walk the queue area.

the Harry Potter ride is one of the most amazing non-coaster rides I have ever done! And, anyone who is a HP fan must go through the queue at least several times, and/or linger and let others pass you, so that you see all of the permutations of each scenario. It is a half-day tour at best, and I was with a true HP fanatic DD who managed to spend 3 days there!! You need to be sure to stop by for the "wand" show at Ollivanders also, and the meals at Three Broomsticks (breakfast or lunch) are pretty authentic and good.

Great advice! US really knocked it out with all their attn to detail. I'll humbly add if one is inclined, to order pumpkin juice from inside Hoghead for a much shorter queue - and pay by credit card/room key Watch the many windows in Hogsmeade for some magic to start up. Check out the owlery (look up) and the kiosks outside where you can buy Hogwarts stamps and postcards. I wrote one to my muggle gf and gave DH write one to me (yes, I'm a geek!) and then got them to postmark it with a Hogwarts chop! When we returned home, it was so fun to see what DH was thinking that day.

Thanks for the generosity. We are two adults. One large, one medium.
We are taking DCL transfers to the VWL and staying in a studio for 2 nights after the cruise. We are celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary on 5/28, the day we leave to go home. We will not do rope drop as DH, age 67, has decided he no longer wants to go on any rides unless it is Hall of Presidents or American Adventure. It doesn't stop me from going solo. I just leave him in the room and take the boat to MK.

John, sorry about your news, we were all looking forward to meeting you, maybe next time.
We went to IOA to ride the Harry Potter ride in Oct 2010. We had a scare since DH couldn't put down the
safety harness. We had to hop out of our 4 person car and follow the CM to get on one of the cars with the "larger" seat. DH was confortable and we had a fantastic ride. I think DH kept his eyes closed the entire time, but the rest of us had a blast.

I have all my pre cruise planning done - now I have to figure out what to do on the 26th until my 6:30 pm flight home. Debating Kennedy or one of the river tours around Port Canaveral - I just have to figure out the best option for the money beside sitting at MCO for 8+ hours.

Two weeks from today I will be at WDW and 3 weeks from today, we will have finally started meeting and will be cruising!! I cannot wait and am looking forward to this time. See you all soon

Elaine, I did see that SWw/end was the return of our cruise - you pointing it out again has me itching to change my plans. Initially we were going to drive to Epcot right from the port, and the next day an early morning start for the Exotic Car Driving Experience (an early b'day gift for DH) and then spend the rest of the day at MK (which as Evening MH to 1am). Last day was DTD, with ME pick up at resort at 5:40pm...so I could switch things up a bit

gailg3horses - thx for sharing that letter on BBB & PL. I didn't receive it and have no interest in booking it but it was fun too see anyway.

carouselkr - appreciate you sharing the All Ears activities. I looked at joining that group too but decided against it as DH lacks the Disney gene, and while I use All Ears' website in my trip planning, I am unfamiliar with AE's people/'personalities'

I wanted to give you a big welcome to our group we just a little crazy as of late but I'm not sure why?

Sorry for "abandoning ship" in the middle of a discussion, I had to give a speech to 100 women yesterday and it took all my brain power for a couple of days lol!

Dh and I were considering doing the bracelets for part of our FE and then those not on our list but still wanted them we would also order for. However, I am not emotionally tied to ordering them so if reimero wants to do it, that's fine as well. My thoughts are:
Silicone
Lime (dcl) green
"fantasy becomes reality" and dates if they will also fit

Other than that at under $2 a piece I'm on board!


Just let me know, I can put together a spreadsheet of those who've said they are interested (recently) I don't plan on going back for all the months this board has been around, lol!

So anything close to that would make my day!

We would need 4 youths, 12 adult med and. 6 of the extra large!

I found a place online, not the cheapest, but if we opt for screen printing, we can have about 100 wristbands in lime green for a modest amount of money. If we go American-made, 24-hour turnaround with 2-day shipping, it's $1.37 per wristband. I don't think we need it quite that fast. Realistically, if I were to handle the shipping, I'd need everything to arrive within 2 weeks, and this company can (theoretically) deliver by Monday.

If we want to emboss or use eco-friendly recycled silicone, production time goes up to 1 week, but if we act soon, that's still within the acceptable time frame.

Looking at other places online, realistically, I think we can do this. With a firm bracelet count and a firm color decision, plus a decision on whether to go cheap or eco-friendly, we can make it work.
What are people willing to pay per wristband?

I will pay too. I wrote what we would need for my family in this post!

So are we all in agreement to do the lime green? And "Fantasy
Becomes Reality" ? I will start a spreadsheet tomorrow so keep a lookout for it and make sure you are on there w/ quantity and sizes.

Well, the possible became the probable. Pam and I have to cancel the cruise. My 84 yr old father was diagnosed with terminal cancer a month ago and given a prognosis of about 6 months. I guess that's what said when the doctors don't have enough information for a better guess. Yesterday his doctor said one month. To make matters worse, Dad is the primary caregiver for his wife, our stepmother, who is in the middle to late stages of Alzheimer's Disease. We have our hands full now for the next couple of months.

I'm so sorry that we can't make the cruise because although we haven't met yet, I was looking forward to having a drink or some social time with you guys. I'm sure it's going to be a blast.

We made plans last year for the May 25th, 2013 Western Caribbean Cruise, so maybe we'll get to see some of you on that one.

Oh John! I am so sorry to hear that! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I lost my Grandmother to cancer a few months ago...it was a long battle and even though she has 5 kids and 37 grandkids, I was her only caregiver. You are taking on a lot. I pray you have more times of peace than of struggles.

So I got home late Friday Night and DCL called and states we have to call them back on Monday as the department they were calling from is not open on the weekends. Something about Special Services. We are in a Handicap Accessible Stateroom and i'm hoping maybe its to verify what services we will need once onboard but now I'm nervous that it could be something else.

I am going to have to email the agent who is covering my Travel Agent's clients while she is at the hospital with her twins that she delivered a week ago. one of her babies is facing a lot of medical procedures including heart surgery.

Hope we aren't facing a change in stateroom or something like that. I would be really disappointed and upset. Given we have a doctor's note stating that having a Handicap Accessible stateroom is required they wouldn't move someone to a non handicap accessible room would they? Could they downgrade someone?

I was 24 pages behind when I started reading last night so when I saw bracelet references, I remembered that I really wanted to have some so I had dh look into them whilst I kept reading.

Admittedly, I don't know the deck plans as well, but we could meet at the family pool at 3 PM. That way, kids can be swimming, parents can be watching and chatting, etc. Then, by 3:45, we could head to our muster drill stations.

Once we decide on a time, could you put it on the front page of the thread, Tony?

Absolutely!!! And I like the 3pm meeting also. Of course, I'm so far behind on my reading of the board, that this has probably already been decided!!! If so, great! We have an early boarding time, so we can go with the flow.

John------can't say how much this upsets me. I actually have stayed away due to being very busy, but I saw this in an email alert outside the board, and wanted to think about my response.

I want to speak for everyone when I say that all of our vacations will be enriched by your involvement here on the boards. I feel like ours has been a buddy-system in trying to organize everything, and I am sorry that I won't be able to thank you in person. That said, my heart goes out to you and Pam for all you are going thru. No one here will question your decision----loss of a parent, anticipated or not, can change so many things about your life. Enjoy your time, and soak up all you can while you can. I can't remove you from page one....I refuse. You are still, and will always be, part of this remarkable group. Blessings to you both, and here's hoping we are all fortunate to one day meet you face-to-face.

We are doing Typhoon Lagoon this trip, and we have done Blizzard Beach and River Country (now gone). After we disembark, we are going to Downtown Disney for the day, which we enjoy also. Plus, there is a Disney putt-putt golf course that we may take in.
