Well, the possible became the probable. Pam and I have to cancel the cruise. My 84 yr old father was diagnosed with terminal cancer a month ago and given a prognosis of about 6 months. I guess that's what said when the doctors don't have enough information for a better guess. Yesterday his doctor said one month. To make matters worse, Dad is the primary caregiver for his wife, our stepmother, who is in the middle to late stages of Alzheimer's Disease. We have our hands full now for the next couple of months.

I'm so sorry that we can't make the cruise because although we haven't met yet, I was looking forward to having a drink or some social time with you guys. I'm sure it's going to be a blast.

We made plans last year for the May 25th, 2013 Western Caribbean Cruise, so maybe we'll get to see some of you on that one.

John - wow. I'm so sorry. I feel like you're one of the unofficial leaders of our group, and I'm bummed to know we won't get to meet you. I know not coming on the cruise is nothing compared to the family turmoil you're experiencing, but you've been so faithful to manage the FE list, and it just will NOT be the same without you. I hope your time with your dad is special, and I hope for many future happy sailings for you!

If it is within your budget, I would highly recommend going with Universal & staying on site. Universal hotel guests get early entry to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter & their hotel key acts like a fast pass for most of the rides. (with no limit on the number of times you can use it).

Holiday weekends can be tough, but we have done two Christamases at both Disney & Universal and had a great time. As mentioned, the trick with the Disney Parks on Holidays is rope drop. If you want a more relaxing theme park experience, stay on-site at Universal.

I agree with Donald, If you want to do Disney, it's important to be there for the rope drop. We will be at Universal before the cruise, and have been before, there are lots of rides your children will love, and the whole Harry Potter area is fantastic. Don't forget to try the Butterbeer! Also, if you don't fancy the ride part of Harry Potter, still walk the queue area.

If your name is not on there please let me know so we can count you and your family in the numbers. We are planning to order monday, I am on my phone (at a gymnastics meet in alabama, lol!) til tonight, so will update when i'm back in front of a computer.

***Please note the size for the child band, dh says the site indicated that they are for 3-5 yo...just double check. I am planning to measure the big part of my kids' hand to make sure it is the same or smaller than the measurements when folded up like you would when putting on a bracelet/wristband.

Yay! Can't wait to see everyone sporting these!

Our family, Barb, DW /Dick, DH / Mike, DS / and Steven DS / are not in the FE group. We are excited and thankful to our DIS donor to be included in the bracelets. Could we please have 4 lg /Adult size.

We've done bracelets before with a DIS group and it is helpful and fun to be able to identify part of the group and join them!

To those thinking about going to Universal, (and this is coming from a true-blue Disney fanatic who almost never goes over the the "other side"): the Harry Potter ride is one of the most amazing non-coaster rides I have ever done! And, anyone who is a HP fan must go through the queue at least several times, and/or linger and let others pass you, so that you see all of the permutations of each scenario. It is a half-day tour at best, and I was with a true HP fanatic DD who managed to spend 3 days there!! You need to be sure to stop by for the "wand" show at Ollivanders also, and the meals at Three Broomsticks (breakfast or lunch) are pretty authentic and good.

i am planning to order wristbands on monday. we have had an anonymous donor offer to pay for them. i am not clear if they mean just for the FE or for everyone so for now, EVERYONE participating in FE please list sizes based on the measurements in post #1923 so i can get the order together.

i will post as soon as i know about everyone else. if you want to pay for them and are not participating in FE (and haven't posted yet) please let me know if you want wristbands and what size(s).
