What exactly is Fantasmic? Is it a fireworks show? We missed it last year at DL, but will be there again May 3 - three adults, three kids. Is it something we should plan to see?

It is a 20 minute show at the bend of the Rivers of America. You can view it from many angels but right in front is best. It involves Many Characters on the island with some larger ones (Kaa and Dragon) there are lighted fountaind, mist screens with projections, dancing, music, the fire breathing dragon, the river on fire, fireworks, witches and also involves floats with lots of coloered light ala the electric parade, the Columbia Sailing ship as Captain Hooks ship and the Mark Twain full of dancing characters. To get a front and center seat at the first show you need to stake out a spot a couple hours ahead of time. If there is a second show that evening you can slip behind the crowds during the first show and hang out over by critter country and then when the show ends come in right behind the exiting crowd and snag a spot at the front.

There is also a dessert buffet ($47 per person) you can do on the balcony of the disney gallery. The number to call is: 714-781-4400. It is wonderful though pricey. There is a link on this sight with all the info. I would definitely see it, although if your kids are very young they may be frightened by the loud noises and effects.

I'm a huge Fantasmic fan. I'll snag my spot up to 4 hours beforehand (it's worth it), though if there's a second show, then you can follow the above advice. Front and center is the best spot. I've never done the dessert thing because I think $47 is just plain too much.
