If we could get to a seat, that could work. DS would do ok with headphones and an iPad for a while.Fantasmic is not listed in the list of attractions that may be available for DAS Advance Selections on the WDW website.
I doubt that Fantasmic will be available for DAS Advance Selection, mostly because there is going to be a lot of interest in it after such a long closure and the updates in the show.
We did use DAS for Fantasmic before it shut down and I expect day of visit DAS will be available. Although I don’t know for sure, I expect it will have Standby Line, even if it offers Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lane.
I don’t remember how early we had to be in the past while using DAS, but it was at least 30 minutes before the show. For shows, you generally get a window to arrive, not a start time and open end like regular DAS Return Times.
In the past, the closer it go to the start of the show, the busier and more crowded the walkway area behind the back row got. So, it’s better for most people to get there early and wait in your seat than to try to get in right before it starts.
I have not heard whether there will be one or 2 shows to start with, but in the past, when there were 2 shows, the second was usually less crowded and busy
How does this affect the ability to book other DAS day of? When do you request the Fantasmic DAS access?Fantasmic is not listed in the list of attractions that may be available for DAS Advance Selections on the WDW website.

I'm a little surprised there's no provision for DAS yet, but hoping it's in the works.
That’s interesting to read how it was done before - we’d always used a fast pass to get in so I didn’t know. I agree it looks tricky. With Fantasmic, it's just always so darn crowded down in there as you line up for the show. If I remember right, pre-COVID there was a line on the? far left? I think that was for mobility, HA and DAS type waiting? (someone - help me remember correctly - LOL it's been so long now!) They did *not* call it a DAS queue, if my memory serves. The last show we attended in January of 2020, they did ask me to join that queue on the far left, and they brought those of us with mobility devices and mobility issues down first, and got us situated in the spots along the back rows with our companions/traveling parties. (That was not our experience previous to that night; we had always mainstreamed prior to that.) The next group to come down was everyone else who was in that queue, along with the dinner party folks, followed by FP+ and then standby. Ironically, it was a fairly sparsely attended show that night because the temperatures had started dropping and the wind had kicked up. When the lockdown happened, and the show closed, we were so grateful we had gone, and bundled up and watched it one last time despite the weather!
I don't know if that is what they are doing now; I am still waiting to hear how they are handling mobility devices (as well as DAS and other folks with accessibility needs) for that particular show now that it has reopened.
NOT here to start an argument about DAS, or how it was/is/should be implemented at this show, etc. Just a reminder that while it could be that this show is one of those cases where waiting outside the queue system is not really viable given how they have to move Guests through that space.
