Is there anyone else that found the Fantasmic show a bit disappointing .... Everything I read on the forums raves about this show ....... friends and relatives assured me that it was a "must see" ....... My family and I (DW,DD(19),DS(23)) sat and waited for 90 min. on a cold (by florida standards) Jan. 8 night only to be underwhelmed by the show. Most of the show seemed to be a movie projection on a wall of water mist, with some theatrics and pyrotechnics mixed in .......... I'll probably take a beating for this opinion but I just wanted to see if anyone else felt the same way

No beating from me...different strokes for different folks. Fantasmic is our favorite of all the night time shows. Although, I imagine if I waited 90 minutes for anything I'd be miserable. We do the fantasmic dinner and a show package....in fact did it last Weds. We have an early dinner and then don't show up until 6:25 for the 7:00 show. It was really cold the night you went!!! Luckily for us it had warmed up by Weds.

We aren't nuts about it either. It's alright, just not one of our highlights. These days, we only see it every couple of trips, or if we're taking someone new with us. We don't need to see it every trip - unlike Illuminations, which we wouldn't dream of missing.

Bummer you did not care for it. I really like it...each nighttime event for me has a totally different atmopshere, and I enjoy them all.

Fantasmic is no fun when it is cold, though...or damp...

No flames here, I'm one who can easily miss Illuminations on our trip, we tried to see it this trip but the smoke was so bad (on 1/12) that we had to leave due to DS allergies.

Every has different likes & dislikes and not 1 thing can appeal to us all, that's why the variety of nightime shows is great at WDW!

I agree, it certainly was chilly on the 8th! However we were at Fantasmic on the 9th & the weather was better. :)

Fantasmic is definitely worth seeing, but IMO definitely not worth waiting an hour or more for. I've only seen it twice, both times using the dinner package, but not since 2002. It's hard to squeeze in, and hard to talk my family into after a full day at MGM. I much prefer Illuminations and Wishes, and we never have a problem getting into those! :teeth:

i haven't seen the show - i am interested to see it - but i don't fancy waiting 90 mins?!

do you have to wait 90 minutes every night for this show or is it just some nights are busier than others?

That's one thing that we learned to check years ago (we learned the hard way too - LOL!) - which way the wind is blowing. Once we find that out, we make sure to find someplace to watch Illuminations where the smoke from the fireworks are moving away from us.

We like it, but like Illuminations and Wishes better. We get the dinner package so that we don't have to wait as long.

I enjoy Fantasmic but I don't love Fantasmic. I could skip it and not feel bad about it at all. As a matter of fact the last time we were there Fantasmic was on at the same time as Illuminations. I was seated in the preferred seating of Fantasmic to the far left and was trying to watch Illuminations in the distance the whole time.

We did the dinner package last summer. I was underwhelmed, too. The images projected on the water was cool at first, but seriously, after the first 5 minutes, the novelty wore off.

We saw it once, probably never again.

:confused3 we have never taken the time to see this show? the crowd is what I have an issue with !

My little boy loves fantasmic we have to see it a t least twice every trip(always do the dinner package though). He also has the cd and scorcerer mickey hat and frequently re enacts the entire thing in his defence we live in the uk and fireworks ect here are nothing like any of the shows at disney. the wonderful thing is that there is somthing for everyone.Wishes is my Favourite my husbands is Illuminations so were all happy :sunny:

We've only seen it once, and really don't care if we see it again. It was ok, but not a "must see" for us by any stretch of the imagination.

We saw it once- we were completely underwhelmed. I don't plan on going to see it again, unless we are at MGM with others who have not yet seen the show.

We're definitely an IllumiNations family!

We do the dinner package when we want to see it. Now I avoid illuminations like the plague.

It's far and away my favorite of the nighttime shows. To me, it's the kind of unique and original entertainment that makes Disney, well Disney. But to each his own--just leaves more room for us! :wizard:
