Fantasmic Rehab??

Hi-
Just saw on The Dis under rehabs - Fantasmic! listed as under rehab Jan 25 - Feb 1.

I'm bummed as we are arriving Jan 28 and leaving Feb 2 and would have loved for my DD5 and DS7 to see it. If this is true - maybe it will reopen on Feb 1 ???

Anyone have any further info on this?

Hi there

TourGuideMiKE is posting the same thing on his site as well, I think it is a "for sure" thing. If you are wondering about Feb 1st, why dont you call wdwdine and see if you can "make" a fantasmic dinner pkg at one of the three resteraunts for that date. They would probably have to know whether or not the show was going if the dinner package is available.

Oh say it isn't so..we arrive on the 24th and can't change plans for that date. Maybe just maybe they won't close it until Jan. 26 and we can sneak it in. Fingers are crossed here.

No, it is not listed under rehabs on Disney site and they still have Fantasmic! listed in their schedule for those dates. However, from reading these boards I have been led to believe that Disney is a little slow in updating their website.
I am calling tomorrow for a PS and will see if the CM knows anything..and if Fantasmic! dinner packages are available for those dates.

I would not rely on Disney's official website for any leadtime for rehab news. I dont think they listed AE closing permenently for a new Lilo and Stitch ride until a day or two before it closed!!!! I think the worse the news is, the less leadtime they give you!!! Just my personal opinion!

Wow, I guess we will be sneaking in just under the wire when we go to see in Jan.... glad we won't be missing it as the kids were really looking forward to it. As it is it looks like Space Mtn will be closed while we are there (big tears!). Guess my DS will have to wait a few more years (and he was finally going to be big enough!!).

What makes you think Space Mountain is going to be rehabbing in January ? Where did you see that ? And when is it due to be closed ?

Wow, now you really put me on the spot... can't remember where I saw it.... probably here at disneyinfo.com or another "unofficial" disney website....read that Space Mtn due to go down for rehab starting in January (didn't give a specific date). I'll look around and if I figure out where I read it I will let you know!...pjlla

Too bad for us. We arrive late on the 24th and leave early on the 1st. We are going to the World with my brothers family {its their first trip} we built this show up for them and now we won't see it. Maybe Disney will finish early with the job.

Just got off the phone with a CM at WDW DINE - on her computer
Fantasmic! was listed as under rehab from Jan 25 - Feb 1 (reopening on the 2nd)
Too bad, we miss it! I will look at the bright side - this will help me to scale back my touring plans and not run my family ragged as we were going to "run" over to MGM one night to catch the show. Now it's more likely that the kids get to experience Neverland at the Polynesian and DH and I get a dinner by ourselves.
Bright side of this mornings phone call - my kids are booked for the Pirate Cruise at GF. They'll love it.

I forgot to ask about Space Mountin - sorry. Maybe someone else calling could do that?? I'm done with PS's for now.

Thats the way to do it BarbB! If you get lemons, make lemonaide! Disney certainly has lots of options for a fun evening.
My kids did the pirate cruise (ages 8, 6, and 5) and they absolutely loved it!!! You should see what they get for pirate treasure.
Sorry all, i dont know anything about an official rehab for Space mountain, but I can say that usually anything like that is reported on the disboard way before it hits the official site.... and I do believe I read somewhere on the disboard that Space Mountain has usually gone down for rehab in january in the past years.

Maybe they might hold off on doing it this january on the account that AE is gone, and with timekeeper and carousel of progress almost never operating...if they took space mountain, there would not be much left to do in old tomorrowland. Or, maybe not...just a guess....

Does anyone know when they start to post rehab schedules? How far in advance? I'm going Feb 21st - March 1.

Also - is it possible the rehabs reopen earlier than planned?
