Fantasmic Package Booked/want regular adr

Hi...We originally booked the fantasmic package at Scifi, however we had to change our plans a bit and will now need to head back to the airport before Fantasmic. - We'd still like to eat lunch at Scifi, but not spend the extra for the package. I've been trying to book a regular reservation for the same time as our package with no luck. I will keep trying, but it's in 2 weeks, so I doubt I'll find anything.

Thoughts on if they'll let me change to a regular reservation if I show up to my reservation and explain the situation?

Consider signing up for a dining alert site - chances are, something will pop up the day before and even day-of. Personally, I wouldn't risk being charged for the package and wouldn't want to hold onto it if I knew I couldn't go to the show as, I'm sure, someone else would love that package reservation.

Pre-Covid I was able to “downgrade” at Mama Melrose when I arrived to check in. Will be curious to see if anyone has a more recent experience.

Don’t give up hope on getting a regular ADR. A lot of spots open up last minute as people change plans. How many in your party? I just checked for the next 2 days & there are a lot of spots, especially for 2. If you have a bigger party, maybe you could try breaking it up to get something.

Yeah I found a ton for 2, but we're 4. I'll keep looking, but Scifis always been a tough one for us to get. Thx!

That’s too much dough for me to risk being told no on the downgrade. I’d drop the F! package, set a dining alert and if nothing pops see if you can hop on the waitlist when they open for lunch.
