I was wondering how long Fantasmic is. Here is my problem and hopefully you can help. We have the dinner package for Fantasmic which I booked 180 days out and on that same day I was able to book the illumination cruise. Fantasmic is at 7p.m. and Illumination is at 9:30p.m. (need to be at BC at 8:00p.m.). Is this going to be possible or do I cancel one and if so which.
Thanks for the help.

Also, this is the first time I started a tread so please let me know if I'm doing it wrong.

I don't think that you would be able to make it. Fantasmic! runs about 25 minutes. It will take another 15 to 20 minutes to get out of the theater and then 20 - 30 minutes to get from the theater to the BC, if you walk. It can take even longer if you try to take the boat, since a lot of people will be trying to do the same thing.

I would try to reschedule the Fantasmic! dinner for another night. Your chances of being able to do that would be greater than trying to book another IllumiNations cruise. If you can't book the dinner, you can still see Fantasmic! another night by standing in line 45-60 minutes prior to showtime.

Maybe, but you may be trying to plan too many events in a small amount of time. Just the rushing around and the stress if the buses/boats etc. are not running on your schedule may overshadow the excitement of seeing the both of them. IMHO, we do not try to schedule two MAIN event night shows in one evening (at separate parks). When are you going? You can see fantasmic and the Osbourne lights in the same park. Spectromagic/ MVMCP and Wishes (or the new fireworks display) in the same night. Trying to move from one park to the other will probably lead to dissapointment or stress trying to make it happen. Sorry this is not the answer you wanted, but I hope it helps you have a magical trip. Who wants stress at WDW. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the advice. I was hoping we could do one thing per day but, as you are aware the illumination cruise is a hard one to get and I happen to finally get it on of course this night. I think I will reschedule the dinner.
Thanks much

I believe it takes about 20 to 25 minutes, plus it takes awhile to get out of the theatre..

Please tell us what time of the year you are visiting WDW. This makes a difference. You don't always need dining reservations to get good seats at Fantasmic.

P.S. You started your thread perfectly. Good Job!! :thumbsup2

Sorry, forgot to ask.....how many days will you be there?
we are going the 2nd week of Dec. for a week. It seems that I would have a lot of time but with a 5 and 9 year old I don't want to many late nights and early mornings. They are at a good age to take but they no longer take naps, so long days can make them crabby after awhile.

I personally don't think you will need the dinner package to get good seats at Fantasmic. You are going at a relatively slower time of the year. I would cancel the Fantasmic package and see the show a different night rather than try to do both on the same night. You shouldn't get back to the resort too late after seeing Fantasmic.

Do you think being there part of the time with Pop Warner and Mousefest will make it more difficulty to get into Fantasmic? I'm not sure how busy they will make the parks. I know looking at our schedule and the Mousefest schedule we will not be in the same parks on the same days they have scheduled for thier activites. But I'm not sure how the Pop Warner Kids affect crowd levels.
