Fantasmic Dinner Package?

Hi guys! We are interested in doing the Fantasmic Dinner Package. I was reading in Birnbaum's Book and it said that reservations for this need to be made in person with in 7 days!? So i looked it up on TGM and he said that it is the normal 90 day just info them at the time of reservation the you would like the package. Can anyone confirm either? HELP!

I made mine way ahead of time in what the normal PS time frame is. I believe it was about 60 day ahead of time.

We made our reservations 90 days out. However, at that time the latest seating available was 4:30. I called this past Monday and got a later seating time at 5:50.

But don't wait for the later seating times to open up or you might not get the dinner package. They'll also want a credit card.

PHEW! We are wanting to do this on New Years Eve and I knew there was no way I would get PS if we had to do it when we got there!

...and THAT'S why I don't read Birnbaum's. I read Frommer's and the Unofficial Guide, these two books give the scoop, not the poop!

Birnbaum's is published by Disney, and tell's you want Disney wants you to know, not always what you NEED to know.

That is a bunch of crap re: Birbaums! I never knew that! Here I am thinking that it must be right because I got it at the Disney Store! What's up with that anyway. Why wouldn't they want you to know accurate information?

The 7 days and in person rule was the way it used to be. Probably thats the information they had when the book was published. However for a while now, maybe the last year- year and a half, you have been able to book the FDP through the regular PS system at the regular time frame.

Just wanted to add that they didn't do the fantasmic package during the holidays when I was there in 2001/2002. I really wanted it for January 1, 2002 but they said they wouldn't have it till the next day (and they didn't have it the days before either).

Standard 90 days and on the phone! Birnbaum should know better.
