Fantasmic Dessert Party

Has anyone had a fantasmic dessert party? If you have how is the view from the large and/or small patios for the guests to see the show.? I have booked a fantasmic dessert party...but am not very familar about the location of the patios in relation to where the show is staged. Will the guests clearly be able to see the show from there or is it too far away? Thanks everyone!

The patios have pretty nice views. I've stood in that area for the show and have never had a problem seeing it. One word of caution with a Fantasmic! dessert party, if the show is called off there are no 'interior venues' to move you too. Ie....if it rains, you're out of luck, unlike Epcot where they can move you indoors. I wanted to have my dessert party at Fantasmic but decided against it after hearing this from my WP.

The patios are at the back and offer a great view of the show (some smaller guests may need to stand). We had our cocktail hour there and had a fabulous time. Because our wedding reception was held in MGM (or DHS now I guess) we had rain out locations.

Don't worry you can see everything great!
We had our DP there in Dec. everyone loved it!

As for the whole rain thing...they do have a back up location for you to eat in, it's around Drew Carey's soundstage. It's a private room so no need to worry

really? I was just at my PS in may and was told by my WP that they wouldnt have a back up locale. She even had to call the DHS event planner to double check, and they said no otherwise we would have had it there

Thanks everyone! That puts my mind at ease. I was told that we do have a backup location if it does rain...but it doesn't allow you to view the Fantasmic show. I am okay with this..I just feel that if the show is going on in the rain...it can't be raining too terribly hard. We will just wear some rain gear and deal with it. The show is definately worth it

Yep they have a back location for just the dessert part. But alot of times the rain has cleared up and the show is a go, so they escort you over to the patios. Because the show goes on even for a little rain, they think people want a back up area to watch the show. When we first planned it we had a bit of trouble confirming the back up. When they finally realized that we didn't care about the show if it was raining we just wanted to have desserts, that's when they told us about the private room.
