Okay, I'll admit that we're weird right up front. When we went to DL in 2002, all four of us--even DS 8 and DD 3--were completely unimpressed with Fantasmic. We had no plans to see it ever again, it was so uninteresting. Now I'm reading how everyone raves over it, and I'm wondering--are we the only ones who didn't like it? Was there something we missed?

I'm kind of considering seeing it again, but I don't know. Is there a better way to view it? Is there a specific way to get the "full impact" of the show?

I'm still skeptical. Anyone have an opinion that will sway us from just spending the time on the Jungle Cruise instead?

The best view of the show, as far as I am concerned is front and center. Be close to the railing in the very middle. You have to get there early for those spots. BUT that may not help you. There are some people who are just not impressed. My brother and sister in law love going to Disney but saw Fantasmic once and were not impressed enough to go back and see it again.

The BEST view I have ever had was on the bridge (that goes over the Pirates of the Caribean). No railing in the way, no people crowding, it was great. You will have to stand up during the show but that is no big deal (to me at least).

If there is a second show, head over to this area during the fireworks and you should be able to just walk up to the space you want on the bridge. I will never fight for a water front view again.

Hmmm...this is where we were for our viewing of Fantasmic.

Everyone has different opinions, I guess. Maybe it is just not something your family enjoys. For me, all I have to do is here the music and it makes me happy.

I think that's probably the case with us. It kind of makes me sad, though, because it brings joy to so many people, so it's kind of like, what's wrong with us? Oh, well, there's plenty of stuff at Disney to make us happy![

We have seen Fantasmic twice in Disney World and we love it! I think it is the music that gets us excited.

We are going to Disneyland next month and I'm wondering what the differences are. Are there seats or will we have to stand? I have 3 year old triplets that will have a hard time seeing if that is the case.

Thanks,
Kerianne

I'm kind of the same way, Blackunicorn. I used to "watch" it when I was little and I couldn't ever even see the show because I was so small. I finally saw it a couple of years ago on the 47 dollar Balcony seating and I wasn't all that impressed with the show. I don't have much desire to see it again. But when I saw Believe. . .There's Magic in the Stars for the first time, I was blown away. I fell in love with the show. To each their own, I guess.

disneyfanzz: I haven't seen WDW's version myself, but I hear most say that the DL version is better. Instead of the Pocahontas scene, there is a Peter Pan scene on the big Sailing Ship Columbia boat that people can ride on during the day. Also they use the Mark Twain(DL version of the Liberty Belle) as the Steamboat Willy boat at the end with all of the characters.

The show is right on the Rivers of America so there isn't a stadium with seats like at MGM. So your options if you need to sit are either to get there early and find a seat in the front by the railings, or pay $47 dollars each to sit on the Disney Gallery Balcony with dessert included.

There is very limited, and very pricey seating (I belive it costs close to $50 per person). You get to sit in the "gallery" above the Pirates or to the left on the rivers.

The seating is on the ground and their is a standing section, behind the seating section. This is all on the Rivers of America.

It is a very different experience then at WDW.

You are not alone. My family likes it a bit more than I do, but one showing per 5 day trip is about all we can handle. It isn't that we dislike the show. It is just that on an August weekday the crowds start staking out their spots for Fantasmic! several hours before the show, many times in the middle of the afternoon some 6+ hours before the first showing.

The end result is that New Orleans Square and the area around the Rivers of America becomes a mess. NOS was one of my favorite sections of DL at nighttime. Now, I no longer enjoy NOS at night since we always visit in the summer (DD11 in school). I personally wish that Fantasmic! wasn't shown a couple days a week, like Tuesday and Wednesday, but that isn't likely to happen.
