fanny pack, backpack, or lanyard

everytime i have been to disney in the past, we have done the fanny pack situation.....i am not a huge fan of fanny packs...they are rather unstylish, however they do get the job done! i will probably need someplace to store my camera, money, room key, etc.....i just wanted some feed back. if i do decided to go with the fanny pack, will it be in the way on rides? is it more trouble than it is worth?

thanks so much!!

We use them on all major outings. Like you said they will hold all the stuff you need to take with you. And they dont really get in the way I just slide mine to my side or rear on the ride's. I just have to remember to put stuff back in them. Last visit to IOA, I had my wallet get soaked. And lost car key's in the lake, I think on dueling dragon's. LoL. Had to take cab back to hotel to get spare key. Learned the hard way.

Fanny packs may seem "unstylish" as you say, but their practicality > style. Fanny packs can be brought on any attraction as long as it doesn't interfere with the restraints. They can also hold all the necessary items you listed: camera, wallet, room key, etc.

Backpacks must be stored in lockers and laynards have a chance, though extremely low, of falling off on roller coasters.

thanks guys - guess im gonna have to whip out the old fanny pack for this trip!! its ok....its a pretty blue color lol ;)

sparky, in light of your...ahem....history with lanyards, I definitely think a fanny pack is the way to go.:smooth:

I say fanny packs for all the reasons mentioned above. You can fit whatever you need in there. Lanyards can come off on rides plus they won't hold a camera. We so use lanyards to carry our room keys, APs, and some cash. One day on Ripsaw Falls, my 9 yr olds lanyard flew off. Fortunately, it landed in the log and wasn't lost. She freaked. I was sitting right behind her and didn't see it come off.

I use a fanny pack all the time. They hold everything I need and then some!

I keep my digital camera, $$, room keys, etc. in my leather fanny pack, which is water proof. This is really helpful on rides like Bluto, Ripsaw, and JPRA. You just have to make sure it is zippered all the way before wearing it on these rides  .
