I've been trying to get a good rate for 2 nights in April and I noticed alot of talk about FAN rates? Can you please tell me about them? Do I need some kind of card? Is it good for all 3 resorts or just HRH? I already signed up for the Loews card....I'm a little confused on what that does too but I'll figure it out :) TIA

the FAN club is marketed towards corporations as a perk for their employees. if you want to learn more......http://www.universalfanclub.com/default.asp

you can't just apply as an individual. the best discount rates are usually for AP holders or florida residents. :D

the loews card is actually pretty nice, you'll get upgrades at check-in if available, along with your welcome basket, along with some other extras. :D

This is wierd....I just noticed someone replied to my thread (thanks!) but I can't read it! When I open the post I only see my OP? All the time I've been on DIS I've never had that happen before LOL

the FAN club is targeted to corporations as a perk to their employees. you have to be an employee of the company to get the FAN rates. you can't apply as an individual.

actually, you CAN get one legitimately if you join themouseforless.com

BUT, I don't see much of an advantage at this point. I have yet to see a FAN discount for 2005.

I think that blank reply might be mine. I typed up a reply, hit some key by mistake, and it disappeared. I see you have since gotten several replies to you question. You might want to check the other Universal Board (http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=30) because there is a long thread about how to get a Fan card. No one, as far as I know, has gotten discounts for spring/summer 2005 except for AAA. There are usually Entertainment Book and Annual Pass rates, but these have not shown up yet. One hint...When I tried RPR for 2 days, my rate was higher than 3 days, and some people have reported they were told there were no rooms available for a short stay, but they were for a longer stay. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! I posted too soon! I found the other thread on the Universal board yesterday but I do appreciate all the replies here :)

We already have our airline tix and the 7 day cruise paid for so we can't lengthen our stay. (Wish we could!) I'll have to have DH check at work to see if they are eligible. Thanks again!
