Famous people at WDW

When I worked as a cast memeber in 2000, I met Cisco in toontown, where I worked. I rang up some purchases for his kids....Boy is he short.....and at that point, his hair was gold....:confused3

A few months later, I saw Raymond from Everyone Loves Raymond and his family being escorted up to Goofy's Barnstormer. He seemed like such a down to earth guy chatitng to people and not getting upst if anyone wanted an autograph.

Plus, while working in the Farmer's Market in toontown, I got to wait on Puff Daddy...boy did he have a huge Entourage(sp?) and there was a lot of little kids with him.. one guy asked for an autograph for their kid and Puff was like.....first go and get him an autograph book and I will sign that......

Wait....one more...I don't remember her name...but she was the young girl on the tv show 227...Regina King..maybe...I saw her walking thru Toontown as well.

That was all of my celeb sightings....

Well, I'll add mine. This is a fun thread....

I must have been 12 or so, this was back in 1987 or 1988. My mother, brother, sister, and a friend of my mother were in the elevator at the CR. We got on and had 10 or so flights to go. A group of three guys were on the elevator already, so it was a tight squeeze. Well, here I am, shorter than everyone, and I was staring down. These three guys had the coolest cowboy boots on that I had ever seen. I was going through some sort of cowboy phase myself (had just gotten my first pair of boots recently). These boots were some sort of alligator or snakeskin, either way, they were really cool looking. I don't know what made me say this, but I blurted out, "Your boots are cool." One of the guys said, "Thanks little man." He then mussed my hair, and with that we all exited the elevator. As they were walking away, the same guy tipped his hat to my mother and her friend and said, "Have a nice day folks."

My mother and her friend were both looking at each other, and finally my mother said, "That was Alabama!"

I had no idea who they were at the time. And I don't really listen to country music now, but I know the group Alabama.

To this day those boots are burned into my head. They seemed like real nice people.

We just saw Celine Dion earlier this month. Also, the Sabrina the teenage witch girl but I can't remember her name!

We met Steven Curtis Chapman in Epcot! He was VERY nice. We watched him narrate the Candlelight Processional a couple years ago, and decided to wait around the exit from the stage (knowing he had to come out sometime! LOL!) There were about 10 of us just hanging around during Illuminations, and sure enough he came out w/a bunch of body guards:cool2: . We all got pics with him and autographs - he was very friendly. It was a highlight to our trip for sure!

I'll share my best one..

When I was a CM in the College Program way back in '88 I worked in The Chapeau Hat Shop on Main Street, MK (was I not the luckiest person in the world???). Each day during the 3 o'clock parade I would spend the time cleaning the shop because typically the guests were watching the parade and the shop was vacant. One particularly beautiful Spring day I was tidying up and enjoying myself. I was singing along with the music (yeah, you get to know every word!) and dust-busting around the Mouse Ears when I suddenly saw a man standing there. He startled me a bit because he seemed to come from nowhere! At that time there was only the entrance from the Camera Center (now the Candy Shop) and there was a wall where the DVC area is now.

He said, "You seem to be enjoying yourself" and I laughed and told him that how couldn't I? I got to spend every day in the most magical place on Earth. We exchanged a few more words and then he said goodbye and walked away. Only he walked through the CM entrance!! I was shocked and didn't know what to do (never had a guest do that before) and while I was frantically thinking about my next step a Main Street CM came in and asked me if I knew who that was. I said, "No!" and that I was sorry that I didn't stop him from going through that door. He just laughed and said he had every right to.

"Didn't he look familiar," he asked?

"Well, yes, as a matter of fact," I said, thinking all the while that he DID look familiar but I just couldn't place HOW he did.

"Want to know why?" he asked?

Because that was Roy Disney.

I met several famous people while working there but NONE could have impressed me more. It is one of my fondest memories. I will never forget his smile when I shared my joy of being there. :cloud9:

goosebumps and soft tears. . .thanks! That was a wonderful story, and so cool that he didn't tell you! He just let the two of you enjoy it. Wonderful!:goodvibes :goodvibes

awww. I used to be in love  with him as a child! I'm jealous! We saw him this past Dec at the CP, he did an unbelievable job.

"2. The lead singer of REO speedwagon came in the shop one night and I could tell by his conversation on his cell phone that he was someone in the music biz so I struck up a conversation with the guy...

me: are you having a nice vacation?
him: actually i'm here working. my band is playing house of blues tomorrow night.
me: oh cool.. what band are you in?
him: REO speedwagon.
none of my coworkers heard of the band besides me - they were all in their early 20's, I was about 27. I think the guy was just happy that I knew who they were! He ended up giving me free tickets and backstage passes! :woohoo: (not that I'm a huge REO speedwagon fan. it was a good show though!)" Luna99

REO speedwagon, I am old enough to remember them. May have even been one of the first concerts I went to. I would love to see them at WDW.

May 03' we waited forever to ride TOT, why the wait?? Good Charlotte was there getting VIP treatment. I had no idea who they were, then we went to RRC, yep long wait there too. We had young adults in our group, they were pretty excited to see them.

We were in line for Space Mountain, right when they give you the numbers to stand on. This beautiful, and very tall woman, entered from the side with a CM along with two children and a man. They were placed on the line in front of us. I had seen her from the side and finally it clicked: Uma Thurman. This was a couple of weeks ago and she managed to pull off a beautiful long, flowey type dress in the heat without looking soggy like the rest of us. When her ride left, the guy behind us said, "Hey do you know who that is? She was just on Splash Mountain ahead of us." By the time we pulled in to get off, she was just slipping away, but not before the group ahead had pulled out their cell phones to take pictures. The CMs seemed pretty excited, too.

Here is a pic of Julie Andrews as she was leaving the Boardwalk... Her husband is behind her, you can just make out his silver hair.

Patrick Warburton (Puddy from Seinfeld & the voice on Emperor's new grove). This was several years ago and we were there with my brother and SIL. A couple of years later we went back (this time with the kids) and rode Soarin' for the first time, we think he was there doing the voice for the ride. As soon as we got off we called my brother and SIL.

I was backstage at the end of a Keys to the Kingdom tour and Mario Lopez and his family were being escorted on their own backstage tour. Mario was doing the reading at the Candlelight Processional that night.

We were in line at the bus stop at DHS this past January, and some teenage girls were all excited. Apparently, the had seen Miley Cyrus on RNR. The ride had been temporarily closed so she could ride. However, the girls' father had some sort of job where they were able to get passes to go on. So, while they were in line, Miley and some others with her came out and got in the cars in front of them. She was taken out a back exit. The girls got pictures of her ride picture with their camera. Apparently she was in town for a concert the next night. (We never saw her ourselves, just the picture of a picture!:rotfl: )

I haven't seen a celebrity at Disney in awhile but there was only a couple....

in probably 2000 we sat right next to Sisqo (the singer) during Fantasmic. Someone we were with got VIP seating through their work and he was sitting directly next to me. Said hello when he came to sit down but that's it.

Then in 1992 or 1993, when my friends and I were in love with the Mickey Mouse Club...we were in between tapings at MGM and Ryan Gosling and another of the mouseketeers walked into the candy store with us. We talked and took a pic with them and then they left.

Pretty much if they were on the Mickey Mouse Club, we met them at one point during our Disney adventures. I also have pictures somewhere of Justin Timberlake, Christina, Britney, JC, etc... from when they were walking around the parks. At the time though we were also 12 and 13 so I think it was more 'acceptable' running up to them and asking for pics and stuff. :)

Oh my...eons ago (1990's) we met some soap opera stars. We talked to them while we were at Pleasure Island.

Cord Roberts (character name) I think was one. The other was the guy who played Tad from All My Children. Both were very nice...especially Cord.

We arrived in Orlando the day of Super Bowl XXXV, which was played in Tampa.

We were on the ferry to MK the first day and happened to be up at the front of the boat. I turned around, looked behind me, and started laughing. Other than our lily-white, out of shape family, the rest of the front section of the ferry was filled with HUGE muscular men and their families. Ummm... wonder who THEY were? ;) The man standing next to me, holding his teeny tiny baby boy, looked at me, looked behind him and started laughing too and said "we're quite a sight, aren't we?"

Oh wow, I've seen so many celebrities at Disney World I can't even count them.

I saw Mickey Mouse once at Magic Kingdom.

Then we went over to MGM to ride Rockin' Rollercoaster, and the guys from Aerosmith were actually in there recording an album! They couldn't stay long, though, they were on their way to a concert downtown.

I could swear I saw John Wayne and Clint Eastwood hanging out in some Chinese movie theater somewhere.

:rolleyes1

Sorry, couldn't help myself. ;)

We saw the guy that played Doctor Oct (I don't know if thats the right spelling and I don't remember his real name, sorry!) from Spiderman 2. :)
