Family of the Week

I was wondering if any of you have ever been selected as DCL's Family of the Week? I've never seen it discussed on this forum nor in the Passporter!!!

Our very first cruise, we had a note from Guest Services that we were the "Dining Room's Family of the Week". Guest Services told me that the Service Departments (Dining Room, Retail, etc.) selected one family to be their "Family of the Week" and that family would get some additional benefits.

We received a food item (fruit basket, dessert tray, petit fours, chocolate dipped strawberries) every night of our cruise. The Retail Family of the Week received a gift and a $25 gift certificate to use at the ship's stores.

That would be TOO Cool......I've never heard of this before.

We got picked to be in the Parade at Disneyland. That was SOOOOOOOOOOOO Awesome. But, I've never heard of them doing anything of the sort on the cruises.

We were selected as 'Family of the Week' last year on our 7 day Western Cruise. It was VERY nice because our twins were having their birthday on the cruise, and they put surprises in our room every day! It was so cool! It really made the trip so special.

How do they determine who the family of the week will be? Is it random, luck of the draw?

I don't know how we were picked. It was a really nice surprise though. Maybe they just pick a stateroom or something like that. It was a lot of fun. Every day we had little surprises waiting for us. We were VERY spoiled on our last cruise.

Wow I wanna be it! But with my luck it won't happen.. although I guess I have pretty good luck after all in the big scheme of things, I am going on my 4th Disney cruise in three years, both my son and husband (and our little dog too) are healthy. DH is gainfully employed. We have a comfortable home with plenty of food... ok I take it back I am VERY lucky in life but.....
if Disney wanted me to feel luckier we are in 6596 on the 12/13/03.... (hey you never know )

I wonder if we have a better chance of being picked if we have 2 rooms in our name?? Since our name will be down twice under 2 reservations.

Hey Tzeb.. If it were up to me you would have triple the chances,, one each for the double rooms and an extra for being a repeat cruiser... to bad I am not in charge..

Haven't gotten anything like that on ship, but we did get best post subject or something from the boards! I wish I could remember what it was for.... Our prize was a really nice and rather large snow globe with a character writing theme. DD10 collects globes so she ended up with it... I would love to get another before DD4 realizes she dosen't have one!!

I guess I would really love to get some actual cash for fruity drinks!!
