Family of Five...Help! Where do we go?

Aren't the suites not eligible for free dining?
I don't think they are eligible, and if I'm right POR or CBR are your best deal for the money.

Otherwise as a group of 5 we've gotten the best deluxe prices at the contemporary garden wing or at the BC/YC, but I would run your numbers there because the room discount is often worth more than the free dining you get. You have to compare your room discount savings to what you would spend if you didn't have the dining plan. (So compare 1 TS, 1 QS and 1 Snack to the discount, not their pricing for the plan) a few years ago if we went to a buffet daily that was worth more than we paid for a moderate room, but you have to redo the math yearly on these things.

We love POR and we are booked there again. Love the food court and Yeha Bob. Keep in mind when your guys are that little FD might not be the bargain you think it is going to be. When my guys were little they shared everything. They were both good eaters and we didn't do the uncrustables etc. They would split an entree at TS restaurants and do the same in the parks. Disney gives you so much food it really is more then you need. My family stayed at AoA for one night arrival stays and loved it both times. I think the theming is the best in WDW especially for the little guys. Love the pool bar and the food court is awesome. The suites look crazy fun. The Little Mermaid rooms are adorable as well. Have fun!

Suites are eligible for free dining. Little Mermaid rooms aren't.

Oh, what you reserve now will not effect what happens with free dining. If free dining comes out on your dates, you would need a whole new reservation anyway. So, make a reservation now assuming you won't get free dining. Then, if free dining comes out for your dates, and are able to get it, just cancel this first reservation.
Plus it decreases the empty rooms. Disney bases free dining deals on how many rooms are empty. With F&W Festival starting at the beginning of September this year, they could even not offer Free Dining if they fill up the rooms before then.
