Family of 6 budget trip again...for the 7th time

I am so glad that I found your thread. We are also a family of 6 (plus 2 grandparents) planning our first family vacation to WDW. I would love to hear more about your budget and how you are earning and saving all these extras for your trip. We are also staying offsite in a house because it seemed cheaper and more practical for all 8 of us. From fellow disers, I have learned about Sunshine Rewards, Inbox Dollars, Fatwallet and have started saving cans to get a little extra cash! How are you earning so much and so quickly on my points?

I am so happy I just found 40.00 ... I will buy DD for my trip to cover the parking ... I NEVER find money I am so happy.... oh and DH has no idea how much "free stuff" I have collected. So when it comes time for the trip, it will help the guy out!

I did not buy 25 worth of Disney dollars insted I put that in the bank along with the 40 I found. I have 700$ towards airfair that I told DH I had . So now all I need is 500 more .. I have been looking at the prices and they are high. I am waiting on Air tran to come out with new dates.

I just cashed out MYPOINTS for a 10$ Cracker Barrel gift card..and I should get a 15 $ free FTD card (which makes 3 free for me)..

So now my free eats.. Cracker Barrel 50.00
Apple Bees 75.00
Subway 28.
Olive Garden 25. I need an additional 50.00 gift card ( working on it through Mypoints or my reward card)

I have 100.00 WDW gift card. I will use this for CS and its "free" because it was out of our spare change, which we never missed.

25.00 gift card ..through SR ..this is for my own spending!!


oh and the children have to save there own money for souvies...

Family of six here too! We have a 3,000 budget but we are driving and the baby is 1! I can't imagine trying to fit is airfare!

As far as gift cards go, MOST places have NONexpiring gift cards. However, some places start to charge your gift card a fee if you don't use it by a certain time. Your best bet is to call the company directly and find out for sure. You'd hate to get down there and not be able to use it.

I followed you on your last PTR and was amazed at your savings skills! I tried the saving cans thing and decided it wasn't worth the effort. I had 3 bags of cans and got like $3.50. Plus I had to drive half way across town to turn them in. Nope, I think I'll just stick to my spare change.

OOOOO. This sounds neat. We are a family of 7 and I am all about budget trips. We also are staying offsite. I find for large families it is just too expensive to stay onsite. We did it last year only because we god a discount with free dining (which also spoiled us).

Yikes $656 for car rental. I am thankful we live within driving distance now And to think I was thinking of flying...

I sure hope you can find a better deal on your car. What kind of car are you renting?

I signed up for a reward debit visa card.. I make a WOPPING half of point per dollar for useing my debit card as credit..... I have 4600 points which = 10$ gift card.. Im am going to hold out for a target gift card , I will use that for food.....
Im just not happy with the prices of this trip!
