Hello All! I am starting to put together a trip for 4 of us, June 2026 or June 2027 (2 DS -11 and 14) We'll fly non-stop to Heathrow, spend a few days in London and then Eurostar train for a couple days in Paris and finish the trip with 4 days at DLP staying New York Marvel. We’ve never been to Europe and to be honest, I’m having a hard time getting my family to give me ideas for London about what they would like to see or do. I know that I have 2 soccer lovers and I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with seeing a game or visiting Stadiums. Any soccer related recommendations would be super helpful. If you’ve been to London with teenagers and did something that they loved, let me know. Please share any other advice or tips for any part of this trip. I really appreciate it!

We've been to London twice, and before the second trip, I was determined to learn how to used the underground (subway). We learned - successfully - and it made ALL the difference in the world!

Start here: https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/tube/

You'll want to learn about the Oyster Card: https://tfl.gov.uk/fares/how-to-pay...y-as-you-go/oyster-pay-as-you-go?intcmp=55536

We also found that youtube videos about the system were very helpful.

Another suggestion is to get a travel card (Visa, MasterCard, etc) that won't charge a foreign exchange fee. At 3%, it doesn't take many transactions to pay for it.

Thank you! I will start learning about the subway so that we know what we're doing and we won't spend a ton of money hiring taxis or ubers. Thank you for the links and definitely a plus to get a travel credit card to avoid extra fees.

Your kids are probably Potterheads? On the day you travel from London to Paris, make time to visit King's Cross Station, which is right across the street from St. Pancras Station. At King's Cross, there is Platform 9 3/4, with a gift shop right next door. St Pancras is the station where you will board the Eurostar to Paris.

Take many, many, many pictures.

Definitely will do this. Thank you for that suggestion!

Our family did the Chelsea stadium tour. The tour guide was great and it was a lot of fun. And just like Disney, you exit the attraction through the gift shop, which is two levels of amazement.

This sounds perfect! Did you research and book ahead of your trip or is it easy to just show up?
I think I might look into doing this for Paris Saint-Germain Stadium in Paris too.

If you'll be anywhere near Piccadilly, and you have soccer mad kids, you must stop into Lilywhite's. It's 5 or 6 floors of jerseys, full kits, boots, the whole shebang! We were in London with my son's soccer team when the boys were 12, and this was on our itinerary, and you'd have thought they all died and went to heaven. MUCH souvenir money was spent here.

This is awesome! Thank you for that advice!

Have a look at doing the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tour. They also host NFL games & have 2 pitches to cover soccer & NFL, as well as separate changing rooms for both sports. Also has the largest football shop in Europe.

London has a good hop on hop off bus tour service, which can include a boat trip on the Thames. Great starting point for your trip to London.

Head to Covent Garden for dinner.. lots of great restaurants…book in advance. London is the home of top musical productions…try and book uo a show whilst you are there. The “Back to the Future” musical could appeal to your family, very popular.
