we have 6 adults and 4 children 5,3,and 2 infants 6-14 months is there any where on site for us to stay ? we have to stay on site any suggestions would be appreciated.

Two of the "Home Away From Home" resorts (Old Key West and Boardwalk Villas) offer Grand Villas, which accomodate up to 12 adults. The costs of a grand villa is just about the cost of three deluxe rooms, however, besides the sleeping accomodations, the villa has a fully equiped kitchen, dining area, stack washer/dryer, jacuzzi tub and a living room (which has the sleeper couch where two of the max. 12 occupants would sleep). The two bedroom villas have the same amenities and are about half the price of a grand villa (and are available at all the Home Away From Home resorts--Old Wey West, Boardwalk Villas, Wilderness Lodge Villas and the new Beach Club Villas). The maximum occupancy in a two bedroom is eight adults. I think with six adults, two small children and two infants, you should be able to book a two bedroom, but I am not certain about that. However, these resorts are owned mostly by Disney Vacation Club members (which I have very recently became a member of) who make reservation there using their "timeshare" points, so I don't know how easy it is to get a cash reservation. If these accomodations are not available and you are not interested in trying to get adjoining/nearby rooms, maybe you could inquire about the cost of a suite at one of the deluxe resorts. I read of some families getting together and booking a suite on the cruise line because it was more cost effective than getting individual cabins, so it just might be true on land, as well. HTH

Try the cabins at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. We stayed there once and really enjoyed all of the room. It is like a small single wide mobile home made to look like a log cabin. It is a one bedroom with a full bed, and a bunk bed and a pull down full bed in the living room. If I am not mistaken it also has a sofa in the living room. It has a full kitchen, closets, two tv's and vcr's and lots of space. I am not sure how many people are officially allowed in each cabin, but they do have a pack and play in the closet. You could probrably ask them to put in an extra one. They are quiet and peaceful as well. Each has a large deck and a place to grill out too. Each cabin is in it's own little nook in the woods. We were there in July and did not feel crowded at that resort at all.

Do you need to stay together.

The cabins are great, but I think it may be crowded with 6 adults. There is really only sleeping for 6 - 2 spots being bunks.
Otherwise, I would get 2 of those.

As far as the DVC units, you could probably get away with a 2 bedroom, which sleeps 8 because you have 2 small children that I'm assuming would be in port-a-cribs.

Check the DVC Rent/Trade boards. You can rent points from DVC members. It's a great option. We are staying at OKW in Nov. with rented points. A 2-bedroom villa.

Actually, it's 8 with one child under three in the two bedrooms. How about two one-bedrooms. Those are 4 plus one under 3. Each has a king sized bed and a queen sized sofa bed, plus a pack-n-play.

Matlock42373, I think you should start by reviewing the incredible information that Dreams Unlimited Travel put together almost two years ago. They stayed in every single on-site WDW resort over a 30-day period. To find all this info, just click on the Dreams Unlimited Travel's "Around The World In 30 Days Tour" link. They have some photos and lots & lots of streaming video of the resorts and their rooms.

You’ve got 6 adults and 2 children and 2 infants. You didn’t state whether or not all of you were related. If this is all “family,” then your room choices would be a heck of a lot easier to sort out. I have traveled to WDW with friends. And I have traveled to WDW with family. It was always easier for me to figure out what room accommodations to book for “family” since the bulk of the group grew up together as children and the rest of the group grew up together as adult in-laws.

For my large group vacations I have done the following. Two times I have booked two-bedroom suites at the GF (and also the YC). The rest of the times I have booked two-bedroom villas and studios at the BW (would have gone the Grand Villa route but my parents wanted to be “separate” from the rest of us, thus I got them their own studio room). For my last vacation, I got separate resort rooms and also a suite (that was a 3-1/2 week vacation that encompassed nine family members coming and going at various points throughout the trip, with resort hopping thrown in here and there, too).

Please let us know the breakdown of your group (who is family, who are friends, who are strangers that are just along for the ride, hee hee). Once you give us an idea of the makeup of your group, we’ll probably be better able to suggest a few accommodations for you to consider. Also, do you all want to stay "put" or would resort hopping be something that you'd consider? And do you know what Resort Area you want to stay in -- the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, or Epcot resort areas? How long is this vacation going to be? Lastly, is this the first time to WDW for any or all of you?

I suggest getting two connecting rooms, at any resort on the monorail. With children that small you will be heading back to your resort often for naps, etc. Since most likely a lot of your time will be spent at the Magic Kingdom, definitely stay at a resort on the monorail, if you can afford to. With two connecting rooms, you will have two bathrooms which you could surly use with that many people. Also 4 Queen size beds (2 in each room), which are available at all these resorts. You are allowed up to 5 people in each room. Check mousesavers.com for WDW Resort room discounts.
