Family Magic Tour

Can I have your review please? Is it worth $25 pp. Is a 5 year old too little?
:confused3
Thanks.

It is so worth it . We took my 5yr old DD to it in December. Her favorite game now is pretending to be Heather our tour guide and making her friends play tour. She remembers every clue and recreates the whole experience in our back yard. So it really made a positive impression on her. Cannot reccomend it enough. Make sure you arrive early so you get the whole background story. :cheer2:

I agree!! We did it in October and my son was just about 5. We had a fantastic time, it was a lot of fun!! :)

We did it with my DD who was 6 and DS who was 9. It was lots of fun! My kids thought it was great to see Mom and Grandma crawl on the floor and bark like dogs!

Okay that got my attention. Whhhat? Explain.

I took my 8 year old and 4 year old girls last year. It was truly one of the most magical times we have ever had in several visits to DW. I would tell you more, but I don't want to spoil it. It is so worth it!

We're going in October 2006 and by then my kids will be 5 and 4. Would it be good to do the tour then or wait a couple years? I'm dying to do this tour. This next trip will be the last one we can take before the kids are in school and we might be limited to when we can go.

I think 5 and 4 are the perfect ages for this! My DD was 4 years, 3 months old when we did it, and she LOVED it. She totally bought into it. Not to give too much of a spoiler, but they start the tour under one premise and then an "urgent message" arrives, changing the tour into more of a "mission." DD kept trying to get other Guests (who weren't on the tour) involved; she was so concerned about achieving our goal!

We will go again when DS is between 4 and 5. DD will be between 7 and 8 then, so it should still be fun for her, but I doubt she'll buy into the premise as hook, line, and sinker as she did at 4. I can't wait to share the experience with DS, who napped in his stroller and missed all of it the first time around!

We did this tour with my 2 DS's (5 & 8) last week and we were the only family on the tour! There was one other CM with us in addition to our tour guide (CM was checking it out to see if she wanted to lead the tour). It was great! We'd done it before, but the group was about 20 people previously. My 2 DS's loved being able to do everything for every clue themselves. It was truly special also getting to watch Fantasmic with Peter Pan sitting between them. Peter kept up a fairly constant narration during the show and pointed out a few hidden Mickey's.

Highly recommend this tour and think a 5 year old is a perfect age. Just be sure not to bring your stroller with you if you're using one as it will get in the way during the tour.

I booked this for the last day of our first trip to disney. I read it is well worth it. I said I have a surprise for you the last day and wont tell them anything.
thanks Diane

My children will be 4, 9 & 13. Do you think this will be good for all ages or will the older ones be bored & humiliated?

I wrote about the Family Magic Tour in great detail in last year's trip report: click here (look for the post on that page entitled, "Day 2: Grand Floridian (Part 2)"). I have links in that post to my photos of the event. My family had a wonderful time on the tour.

I was going to get the boys on the Pirate Adventure the day we fly home, but do you think this would be a better choice? I realize it costs more since we would be paying for 4 instead of 2, but... Do AP holders get a discount on tours like this?

Thanks
Mary

I did the tour in October and it was wonderful. We had a fantastic time with out 5 and 3 year old on the tour. The talk about it all the time, meeting Peter Pan and looking for the "hook"
