I am thinking about trying a tour with my family this trip. Has anyone tried the Family Magic Tour and what did you think about it? They describe it as a type of scavenger hunt but do not give a lot of information. Any info would be appreciated.

We did it several years ago...with our 3 kids who were probably all 8 and under at the time. They basically had a guide who gave little clues and walked you around the park helping you find them. It was really cute...kids enjoyed it for sure. I'm not sure if it's changed since that time (maybe 2007 or 2008) but I know at the end we ended up with a meet and greet with Peter Pan and Wendy.

Found it...November 2007:

Awesome tour! We did it about 9 years ago when my kids were young-we all enjoyed it tremendously. My advice-don't read too much about it as it will spoil the fun.

We just did this tour last summer with my then 13 and 9 year old. They both loved it although most 13 year olds are probably too old for it. Not to give too much away but our tour did not end with Peter Pan (we never saw Wendy). Peter Pan was in the middle and there was another character at the end. We also had one special ride as a group. It is definitely a great tour for families with children.

We did it about 4 years ago on a very hot, crowded day, and it was fun but we did not love it. kids were about 6 and 9 and usually love puzzle kind of things so the weather might have had something to do with it. I would only recommend it if you have more than one MK day scheduled.

We've done it twice (last year and the year before) and it's a great time. I would say the really sweet spot for age is 5 - 7, although younger and older would still enjoy. Both times we had an awesome tour guide. You get to go on one ride (ours was Pooh both times) and there are a couple of character M&Gs along the way. It is a scavenger hunt and it does take you pretty much through the entire park. I highly recommend it!

We did it last time and my DD, who had just turned 4, love it so much she is now asking to do it again. It's kid oriented, parents just stand back, or that was the case on our tour. The guide was really great at making sure each child got a chance to help with the clues. We had two meet and greets and a ride.

Thanks for all the responses. We have a late afternoon flight on our check out day, so this may be a fun way to spend our last day in MK.

I agree with previous posters' comments about the weather and the number of MK days you have. We went last month and it was maybe 90 degrees on the day we went. In the early morning it wasn't too bad, and we were okay for the first hour or so of the tour. They provided "free" (i.e., included in the cost of the tour) bottles of water to the families going on the tour when we arrived to check in at the Town Square Theater. After the first hour, my DH and I were both ready for it to be over. Our DD (age 6) LOVED it, though. And two days later, we ran into our tour guide (Mary Elizabeth) in MK while we were playing SoTMK. She remembered my DD's name and said hello, commenting that my DD sure was good at helping out around the kingdom. :goodvibes

Did you meet Peter? Seems like everyone meets him but just double checking...he's my daughter's favorite and last year the meet n greet line closed 10 minutes before scheduled meet n greet every time...and it was like a bazilllion degrees as it was the middle of July and she just couldn't pull that off. We've signed up for the tour this trip in the hopes of meeting him.

We did - and I forgot to bring DD's autograph book! :sad2: She was pretty disappointed but seemed to forget all about it once she had her turn to meet Peter and get some photos with him. Our tour guide volunteered to take pictures with our phones/camera since there is no Photopass photographer on hand. After that, our group got to ride Under the Sea, and there was another character M&G at the end of the tour.

Awesome, thanks for the info! I thought everyone rode Pooh, but I love Under the Sea so that would be cool. Who was the other M&G?
