We have been to this attraction every year for the past 12 years. I love it and find it very moving. I don't think I could ever tire of it. However, my DH for the past 10 years almost always ends up nodding off. I get really irritated because for some reason I feel offended. I told him it's like not standing up when they sing the Star Spangled Banner at a ball game. He says even when his eyes are closed he is listening and knows it so well that he doesn't have to look. Plus his point is that by the time we make it to that part of the park, and then put him in those comfortable chairs, it's a recipe for a nap. I know my husband is a very patriotic person and loves his country. I don't expect him to get a tear in his eye, but maybe just keep them open.:p

We love this show also, but those seats are comfortable and if you are tired, well..........

as he says, it's a recipe for a nap.

Sometimes we are able to stay awake, but not always.

:sunny:

Not only is it one of the best places to nap in the Magic Kingdom, it's also somewhat of a tradition to do so!

Perhaps your husband feels so comforted in the presence of all those illustrious leaders that he sleeps like a baby, secure in the knowledge that he's being watched over and protected. Take it as a compliment to our leadership's greatness. ;)

My DW also finds this a great place to nap. Seems like this could be a great place for all of us to stow the spouses while we DISsers do our thing!:teeth:

my DH naps in every attraction. Who cares as long as he takes us to WDW. It's a joke with the kids they keep looking at him to see if his eye are open. Sometimes he snores then we don't have to check.:hyper:

My DH can especially sleep in American Adventure, Hall of Presidents, and even Country Bears! combo of air-conditioning, comfy seats, and too much WDW--he's a goner!

At AA HoP Sounds dangerous and others I have slept through the entire show. Dont have a problem with anyone else getting a nap as long as snoring is kept to a minimum. Young children and babies are best when they are napping. I miss Doug Live the longext nap in the parks.

My college roommate and I, both political junkies who love the show, went last summer with his wife and my girlfriend, who proceeded to get quite annoyed with us because we both fell asleep during it...

Epcot was the last park we visited, and it HAD been a long week, just so comfy in there, and Maya Angelou's voice is so soothing...

I enjoyed the American Adventure but I kept falling asleep on the Universe of Energy ride. How tired do you have to be to sleep in a moving theater surrounded by dinosaurs?:faint:

My DH fell asleep at the France pavilion at EpCot and I have to admit that I have done an awful lot of yawning on the Universe of Energy ride myself.

Sometimes the mind is willing, but the body needs a time-out! I'll have to try the AA this next trip.

My wife calls the Hall of Presidents the Hall of Naps. After dozens of visits, I don't think she has ever seen the whole thing.

I can't imagine falling asleep at the American Adventure. I really love it, and it always brings tears to my eyes. I don't find Hall of Presidents to be nearly as interesting, but I haven't fallen asleep at it either. The Universe of Energy does bring me close to sleep sometimes though.

I've fallen asleep just about everywhere, even standing leaning against the rail in Canada's movie.

But one ride I have yet to see all of is Spaceship Earth. I just don't know what it is about that ride. Dark, slow moving, just chugging along zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

No attraction, ever created, was more capable of inducing sleep then the "original" Universe of Energy. What a gigantic yawn that was. It was cool, dark and long. A perfect recipe for sleepy time.
::yes::

Like Elisabeth, it brings me to tears at times, but also, I have nodded a few times, LOL. :faint:

LOL!

I thought I was the only one who ever nodded off in AA! I've felt so guilty all these years and now I feel part of the club. It's a great attraction and we never miss it, but... oh so comfy. ;) I'll admit that my husband's had to nudge me for the roll call in HoP too...

Cheers to my fellow nappers!!

WHile I found the American Adventure a wonderful tribute to our country.... I also find it a nice cool place to take a snooze! I also find myself looking forward to a brief nap in Spaceship earth...:)
I love both, but love the few minutes to get a quick cat nap even more! :)

Laura :)

I love this attraction and may have nodded off once or twice. Comfortable seats and good air conditioning can be very relaxing. However, I do remember seeing a guy really fall asleep once and start snoring.

I just love AA, but after a long day in the park and right after Dinner in Japan its a receipe for at least nodding off, But it is the one attraction at WDW that really does make me get all choked up, ever since I spent 6 years in the Army, I cant watch anything patriotic without getting teary eyed, I even start to cry at the Michigan race when the f-16's fly over!
