Mmkay. I'm sure this has been posted before but I've been thinking about it a LOT lately. My school's on the quarter system so technically Fall Advantage Quarter is an option, but winter quarter 2011 starts on January 3 so, given that a possible check out date this year was January 2, I think I can safely sign up for regular fall or FA.

What are the pros/cons of each, besides the obvious more time in Disney with FA? If there are any other threads on this subject please feel free to link to them! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Hey I have yet to do a CP, but I have talked to many people about this. Fall advantage I believe is like around 7 months (someone correct me if I'm wrong). If you think you definitely want to be down there for that long or it works with your schedule than go for it. If you're at all hesitant I think it would be better to go with regular fall, and you can always apply to extend into the spring if you want to stay longer.

thanks for the reply! the only thing is, i can't extend because i have to be back on campus so i can graduate in four years. i'll probably do another CP or a PI after graduation but extending after next fall is out of the question. i'd definitely prefer to be down there from june-january but i was just wondering what the merits of the regular fall program were! :thumbsup2

Advantage roles sometimes get priority for positions that require more training such as Front Desk.

That seems like a good thing to know. Thanks!

And I wish I could be of more help and offer some facts but all I can give is my opinion. Which is that I'm going for Fall Advantage, simply because I wanna have the time to make the most out of living at Florida and working at WDW. I've been to WDW 5 times but lately, after I decided to do the CP and learn everything I can about WDW, I've realized that there's so much that I haven't seen!!! So, that's why I want to FA...that and almost every CP that loved the program seems to say that 3 or 4 months isn't enough :P

I also wanna finish college in 4 years and I know the CP can set you back with that but that's why I started planning for that now.
I went to the DCP presentation for my school in October and they said they only give 2 credits per class (the ones they offer in the program) and they said they also recommended you only take two since you'll mostly be working.
Which means that I would only have 4 credits in one semester. I don't wanna fall back so I decided to take 3 extra credits this next semester and I plan to take extra the semester I get back as well (if I get accepted which I really hope I will!!).

Wow. I wrote a lot! Sorry! but I hope that helps!!!

definitely helps! i'm leaning toward the advantage program anyway :cloud9:

I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I won't be able to extend after fall (so I will graduate on time), and I probably won't be able to do another CP ever (It's customary to start an internship in psychology right after you graduate, and before you go to graduate school). That's why I'm choosing fall advantage.

I only get one shot at this, so I want to have that shot last as long as possible. There's so much I want to do down there, and I just want to make sure I have long enough to do it. :)
