Fall Promotion to be released...

OK!!!-How much would you like to lose?;) I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that FD is going to be offered next week;and not only that,it will be the Basic Plan for all resort levels!!!:thumbsup2

And how do you know this? If you have info, please share! Inquiring minds need to know! lol

I think theres no question that it won't be offered next week, but just how Disney will offer it. Tierd? Maybe so, maybe not. They are probably losing a good bit of money with the values getting the regular DDP.

I know, because we are too poor to BUY the Dining Plan AND the hotel/tickets!!!!;)But seriously though,I just don't see why they won't,with the economy, and the fact that it has been working to get people to visit during Hurricane Season for the past few years;also, they will make a lot of people re-think staying on-site if they don't.If FD does'nt show,we'll probaly not visit this year(had 10 nites of FD Sept.09,and did'nt book bounce-back).We really were not planning to visit until the rehab of Fantasy Land was done sometime in 2013;that being said,if,I mean WHEN FD comes out,we'll be considery a quick 4-7 night stay!!!

Ill raise you 2 donuts and a cruller that it will be FD, QS at Values and Mods with reg dining at deluxes and villas.

It wouldn't be a PIN for any offer to the general public or to Disney VISA holders. Sure, there'd be a booking code - but Guests wouldn't HAVE to have the code to get the promotion. Knowing what it's called or what it includes would be enough.

I realize you don't need a pin code for the general public I just got use to reading "pin code" due to all the posts on other threads about how they got their pin code for free dinning. Just got the words stuck in my head hope I didn't confuse anyone.

What day in August does the FD traditionally start? We normally go in September so I've never paid much attention to the start date.

It'll be free dining because it was free dining long before the economic downturn and it's been a very successful way to fill rooms during hurricaine/slowest season.

It'll be QSDP at values with basic DDP at mods & deluxes. Tiered offers has been a very successful way for Disney this past year to keep from overbooking the values while underbooking the rest. Last year's Aug-Oct free dining resulting in Disney having to offer all sorts of free upgrades to DVC resort OKW & SRR. The previous year they had to do the same but not in such great numbers. They know how popular of a promotion this is so again, they'll do it again and they'll tier it to work best to their benefit. If they do QSDP at mods then people like me will book values rather than upgrading to mods. With QSDP at values and basic DDP at mods the price difference to upgrade to mods is small but if they both have QSDP then there's no point in upgrading (I do love both Pop and POFQ). Disney will do what makes most financial sense to them seeing that they are a business.

Respectfully disagree - in part because I refuse to LET it be tiered :lmao: and in part because of your introductory statement

If it ain't broke, don't mess with it - ya know? ;) If the SAME plan for all levels of resorts has worked for all five years so far, why play around with it now?

Believe me, I hope you're right. I'd love to downgrade to Pop and upgrade to Deluxe for the end of my trip but I need a very particular set of circumstances with the promotions to make this happen and part of that is basic DDP at values and a separate promotion for decent room discount for deluxes. I'd LOVE to see basic DDP at values. I'm trying very hard to not get my hopes up because if the planets align just right for me, my vacation will be so amazing. :cloud9:

It didn't work perfectly for Disney. They had to give out all sorts of free upgrades. This change to tiers over the past year seems to be working very well for them and I think will be that little tweek that will make it even better for Disney (not for their guests, but for Disney).

All together now: We want untiered free dining! We want untiered free dining! We want untiered free dining! We want untiered free dining! We want untiered free dining! We want untiered free dining!

I don't know how many people would upgrade to a mod for free dining rather than just paying the difference for the reg dining vs QSDP. My two kids are Disney adults which means that I have to upgrade four adults to the regular dining plan. That's $40 a night vs $65 a night to upgrade to a room at a mod. For anyone who was paying to upgrade one or more children on the DP it would be even cheaper. That's why I'm not sure a tiered plan would fill up the mods...unless people don't know they can upgrade dining.

Can someone refresh me on last year's offer? My dh is saying it was QS for value but the option to upgrade for $x. And DDP for for mod & dlx. Is that right?
