I guess I don't understand why you necessarily need book early to do this.

In terms of PE (sorry deleted it from the quote) with 2 ships, I would guess something similar to PC. One 7 night sailings ship and One 3/4 night alternating ship. (Im likely wrong though)

It sure would be awesome to have a ship in PE do something different than two ships each doing 3, 4 and 5 nights.

Well, the Magic is on the Port Galveston schedule for 4, 5, and one 6 night sailings in Nov & Dec 26. So at least an additional night or 2 from what's currently offered. That could indicate at least 1 more Panama Canal. If it stays in port from then on, starting the year round from January 27 amd not later in the year, the 5/4 pattern will probably continue, though they could switch back to shorter or even do longer (though im not sure where they could go with 7 nights)

We did a 2022 7 night from Galveston that went to Falmouth, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel.

Maybe they will have new strategy… starting in Fall of 2026 you just pick a port, show up, and hope a DCL ship is there waiting on you. You then will find out where you are going once onboard. It will make us live on the edge!

In 2017 we did a 7night out of Galveston that went to Nassau, Castaway Cay, and Key West. I would do that again in a heart beat!

We have gone to a bit of a combo model recently on our end. We are booking the new ships which most likely won’t get discounted with a placeholder. For the original 4 ships that would most likely get a GTY or Florida Resident we will just save and book those shortly before sail date.

We are waiting for summer itineraries. Time to go back to Europe. Offering the Panama Canal in 2026 pushed it out another year.

I am convinced now that the itineraries will come during the first week in September.
But only because I will be on a back to back cruise on the Dream that week.

And about planning for trips... I am on the plan way ahead team.
I have 2026 planned and booked. 2027 is planned and waiting on booking to open.
I am currently pre-planning 2028-2030.
I was looking at the south-pacific cruise from Hawaii to Sydney in 2028, but that is now out, so I am now looking into either a Med cruise or a tour of Japan instead.

By booking when I did, back in June of 2024 when the schedule was released, I was able to get the room we wanted. So far, we have only cruised on the Magic and Wonder (by choice) and on the Magic we have been in either 6136 or 6636. While on the Wonder, we have been in 6638 on our two previous cruises and will also be in that room on our upcoming B2B cruises next year. Waiting until now to try and book, there would have been a good chance that the room we wanted wouldn't be available. We like the category 07A on the two classics and I like the location of that room as it is close enough to the elevator and stairs but far enough away to not have a lot of foot traffic or noise. Plus, it looks like the price has gone up slightly from when we booked.

Also, when I use a credit card, I pay off the statement balance each month, I've learned to play the float, so that for example anything I put on it today, won't be due until the middle of October. I've not paid an interest/finance charge on a credit card in over 20 years. So, while I could have paid off both of the B2B cruises when I booked them. By doing how I do it, it enables me to earn something on the monies that I have in the bank and if an emergency arose, then I have the funds to cover it, without going into debt and still make payments towards the cruise.

That's exactly what we do. There is a specific stateroom that I want to stay in and I don't want to play the GTY roulette. We also use our credit card, pay the balance each month and earn miles. Money in the bank, zero interest and earning miles.

Even without going to Austraillia any more, there is still a chance they could do Hawaii sailings. Before Austraillian they used to do 2 one way journeys, one from Vancouver to Honolulu, and one back, before they moved the ship from Vancouver to San Diego. So whilst its not guaranteed, there may still be hope. I hope they do this and you get to experiance it, because we did Hawaii last year, and it was our favourite sailing we have ever done so far.

I hope one day they bring back the South Pacific journeys as I would have loved to stay on for a B2B but we couldn't afford it (money and leave wise) and also had some awesome stuff planned already. We wouldn't be able to do it 2026 either, but if they return, I know what we will try and do.
