Fall 2026 itineraries

Except many are going the other way and booking other cruise lines for fall next year before the other cruise lines prices rise.
There's a group of cruisers who call their travel agent and say they want to go on a cruise next year. They don't specify which cruise line or ship, they don't specify itinerary, they don't specify amenities. They just say they want to try a cruise and they want something kid-friendly. Then their travel agent books something.

So Disney is 100% missing out on bookings that these folks are making right now and creating opportunities for them to become loyal to a different line. Weird strategy from Disney IMO, especially if they're just focused on small, short-term tactical victories like filling their current itineraries that are underperforming.

The number of people that use travel agents and don't know how to research where they want to go or what cruise line they want to sail on wouldn't be enough to move the needle.

We are very loyal Pearl DCL cruisers. Next year we are retired and we are planning on going on cruises with family and friends. They are still working and need to lock in their time now for next year - almost all of them in healthcare, some in corrections. Due to DCL not listing cruises yet for the fall of 2026 we have booked one MSC Yacht Club cruise, one Viking Ocean and one Celebrity Retreat. The costs are much cheaper than a DCL Concierge (except for Viking). I think DCL is the top, but they are losing out on potential cruisers by not releasing their schedule.

We were anxious to book Jan or Feb 2027. Now, we will probably end up cruising with Royal just to get something booked and solid dates set. I also work in healthcare and can’t afford to be lax about requesting my time off.

Since when do employers require 18 months notice?

This is annoying. I need to move my cruise to the fall. I need to see the dates etc. Looks like I will move it as close as I can get-early September, and then have to move it again when they finally release- it is a concierge cruise and I do not want to lose the deposit. Otherwise I probably would have just cancelled and honestly, booked with someone else.

My workplace only allows for x amount of people to be off for a certain day. The sooner I put in my request, the sooner I know if it’s guaranteed I have off or not. I compete with weddings, other people’s vacations, etc. Our calendar allows us to go up to 24 months. Plus we have to factor in on-call schedules as well, which are made 12 months in advance.

That would not work for me. I've worked dozens of healthcare jobs and never experienced that.

Yet another email with an offer. They must want to fill the ships before the new dates are released.

My previous employer was also a 2 year window. Only 1-2 people allowed in my healthcare division to be on leave during a week. If more requested to be off we could not be functioning for our patients. If you wait you lose out. The vacation scheduling is cut-throat :)
What area of healthcare do you work in? I'm guessing its not a hospital.
