Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

I've done them that way in the past, online, then calling if it wasn't available. I just wondered if there was an advantage to using MDE. Ty everyone!!!

After asking my question I read a thread about making ADR's and someone said they have 3 or 4. People signed into her account making reservations at the same time. I don't think I will need to do that as the only high demand reservations I want are O'hana's and BOG for lunch.

Hopefully if I am up at 6 am EST I will get them.

Sunnie, I have been trying to figure out what you meant by always going your ADRs online and something hit me last night... Have you been making your ADRs on the Disney website while your signed in? And are you referring to the app when you say MDE?

We got the yacht club woods/garden for mid September, have been watching daily for a standard room but no rooms at all have been coming up. I think what they had was very limited, same with the bc also.

Ok thanks, I had head others say that Yacht Club availability was low and honestly hadn't seen anyone with luck so I'm glad to hear it's possible. The only ones currently available are Club Level rooms which is more expensive than no free dining.

So I've been super productive the last two days, watching youtube tours of resorts and making my resort bucket list :rolleyes1

I've been doing the same thing the past couple days. I am honestly not super excited about staying at CBR (the theme just doesn't appeal to me) but that was our only option. I've been watching YouTube videos in hopes that I will become more excited about the resort, and to kill time until party tickets and December hours come out.

I actually started because I can't decide if I'm doing the right thing sticking with POR with my UOC discount or if I should switch to CBR for FD. We did CSR last year and not that there was anything wrong with the resort but we didn't have the greatest experience with our mousekeeper so we won't be going back there anytime soon. So if I decide to try for FD it would have to be CBR or a deluxe. Once I started watching tours of CBR and POR I just couldn't stop :)

Yes, I never had an MDE account. When I made reservations, I just went through the website. Since I had just signed up for my account, I was curious if there was an advantage to the account, vs the Disney website. Sorry that wasn't clear.

As for CBR, I feel the same way. I know it is a very popular resort, I just am not super excited about the resort, however I am more excited than if it were CSR as I've stayed there before.

I love love love CSR... its my absolute favorite Disney Resort!!!!! We have stayed at CSR 2x in the past 4 years. The only reason that we aren't staying there this year is because my husband wants to stay at CBR :rolleyes1 Its literally been 14 years or so since I've stayed at CBR and I'm super unsure of our choice at the moment. I am asking to say in Martinique as we aren't paying for a preferred room this year. I am however excited about the pool and pool bar at CBR :yay: I could definitely use a fruity frozen drink right about now.

Happy Star Wars Day!!

I'm glad to hear you love CSR! We are staying there for the first time and I went back and forth between staying there or staying at CBR. Both standard room with FD and I've never stayed at either. I am hoping I made the right choice!

On another note about the ADR's, one downside to booking unexpectedly is that I missed out on the 180 day mark. I'm trying to book ADR's and it is proving difficult!

When we stayed at CSR, I loved the decor, the quiet pool near our room and the general feel of the resort. We did have a couple of issues while there, so I'm excited about trying somewhere new!

I remember when CBR was where people didn't want to stay lol.

We stayed at POR in 2014 an absolutely LOVED it! That is why I am so worried about CBR. The theming is so different and I'm sure I will be comparing it to POR. I hope it holds up to my high expectations.

When you make your dining reservations I highly recommend using the website. When you sign in you will still be signed into your MDE account. The app can be weird when it comes to many things and ADRs are one of them.

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling that way about CBR. Another part of it may be the time we are going, the week before Christmas. I imagine POR Christmas decorations to be much more "Christmasy."

I feel the same way going in December! It will be our first trip near Christmas and I'd like to be immersed in a Disney Christmas!!!

Thank you for the tip! I will continue doing things like I have been and not worry about using the MDE app for dining ADR's. I love that upon arrival, when you check in, they will print out your ADR's for you!! I always have my master copy, but I like having the Disney print out as a fun souvenir.

Oh gosh... you are going to absolutely LOVE CSR. Its is soooooooo beautiful! I have stayed in the Casitas section for 10 nights and also the Cabanas section for 7 nights. I don't care for the look of the Ranchos, so we do not plan on staying in that section if we can help it. Because the resort is a convention center, there are a lot of amenities at CSR that are not normally at moderate resorts and it definitely has a more DELUXE feel to it! There are several bars and sit down restaurants as well as the food court area. There is a great gym at the resort too! There is an indoor bar... and an outdoor bar right on the lake that is directly in front of the main building.... AND there is a fabulous pool bar that also serves food! The pool is wonderful! We have 2 boys ages 13 and 20 who LOVE LOVE LOVE the pool and pool slide. Several years ago my youngest was about 10 years old and we spent a few hours every afternoon at the pool, and he had an absolute blast doing the pool games and dance parties... he had a ball and still talks about that summer. This past Christmas week we still spent a few hours every day at the pool so he could swim and go down the slide. The rooms are absolutely wonderful and are very tastefully decorated. I really want to buy the same decor that they have in the CSR rooms! I love it! So as you can tell.... I think you absolutely made the right choice!!!! If you have any questions about the resort at all, let me know and I will be happy to help!

FYI, anyone looking at POP FD...they opened up a bunch of standard rooms today. We have been trying to decide if PoP would be a better option than ASR's and figured for an extra $10 a night we would give it a go. We are such penny pushers we keep going back and forth trying to determine if it is an economical decision:scared:. Would love some of your thoughts?

Thank you so so much! Every time I start second guessing my choice I read reviews and end up wanting to stick with CSR. I really think we are going to love it! Reviews like this get me so excited to go! I know my 9 year old son and 10 year old niece will love the pool and slide. I guess the only thing I was worried about was my 5 year old who is a little timid in the water, and also I will have an 8 month old with me. I thought the CBR pool might be better with zero entry. Do you think they will be okay with the CSR pool? Of course the baby will be with me anyway!

I've never stayed at the All Stars but I really loved POP when I stayed there. Plus, they have their own busses! If it were me I would definitely choose Pop. You can walk over and check out AoA too, and eat in their food court which is great! Hope that helps!

Don't know if this is true or not, but someone posted in my November group on FB that MVMCP are going on sale tomorrow :)

I think I'm going to LOVE POR too! That's where I wanted to stay last year but we went with CSR for the FD. Ugh why do they have to exclude POR in November and December! I'm going to let my husband watch both the youtube tours of both resorts and get his opinion. We have a royal room booked now so I'm hoping that sways him in favor of POR for our daughter's sake :)

Yes... there is an area with steps leading into the main pool that is very large... and actually the water isn't deep at ALL there. That is where most of the kids hang out in the shallow area by the steps. Also most of the pool party games are played right there at the steps and directly in front of the life guard stand. Your 5 year old will have a blast!! Your 10 year old niece will also have a blast zipping down the Jaguar waterslide! Its not deep at the bottom :drinking:

It was on the passholder site that both will go on sale tomorrow. Here are the rumored prices. :scared1:image.png

We have only stayed at pop, but I loved it. Great bussing, clean place, friendly staff.

Holy mother of god I hope they are selling far less tickets for that price. Ouch.

The various websites I read reviews on all agreed Pop was worth the extra money. As PPs have mentioned, you get the dedicated buses and better food courts (both at Pop and AoA). This will be my first stay at a Value and I originally booked at ASSp, but I'm super excited that I was able to switch to Pop.
