Fall 2015. Information out now.

I have a theory. There is a lot of head scratching on Royal Caribbean boards as to why there has been no ship announcement for fall/winter 2015/2016 out of New Orleans. Couple that with the fact that it was well known that the port of NOLA was seriously pursuing DCL over the past year, and I think that DCL may be testing the waters out of New Orleans (and in doing so bumping RCCL out of the Saturday slot from the Julia St. Terminal)...

Thoughts?

I was also wondering about New Orleans..ANYTHING is easier for me to get to than Florida (I like the train and you just can't get there from here..quicker to go to New York from New Mexico than Florida) Texas works fine and so does CA...
I had a friend sail out of Houston and said it was awful.. a bit of wind and there's a delay and the fog delays. Really enjoyed sailing from Galveston.

We had fog delays out of Galveston.
It really wasn't a big deal as it seems as though the majority were driving in/out.

Would they go out of NYC and up the Canadian coast during the fall/winter though? I would think the same issues with snow/ice would be present as would be with Alaska cruises, when they did them before it was during June/July/August.

A fall "foliage" cruise in new england would be the only time to go! it would have to be late september/early october.

I am hoping for that and a Bahamas out of NYC! those two would be great.

I'll be on board next week during announcement, so hopefully there will be something exciting to book :)

If I was on board during a release date, I would book something! I couldn't pass up on 10% off opening day pricing plus OBC. :yay:

The port of Houston will be open, so who knows? Keeping fingers crossed too. Houston's a much better port (transportation-wise) than Galveston.

The Houston Bayport cruise terminal has been open for 3 years. There was just no one sailing out of there. Houston is actually paying Princess to sail from there. :scared1: Perhaps DCL was offered a similar deal?? And the Bayport terminal is so much nicer than the one in Galveston.

But as much as I would love, love, love DCL to sail from Houston, my guess is that the "surprise" is the New England/Canada cruises out of NY. Those cruises could be done through mid-October. And Fall is such a beautiful time to be in NE. Plus Disney did not lose money sailing out of NY. ;)

I guess we will all find out next week! popcorn::

I don't know much about cruise itineraries but I was thinking NOLA since that's not something that's been discussed much.
I would be excited about that since we are only 5 hours away from NOLA!

Is there any chance this "surprising news" has to do with the west coast? Just hoping.

please...please...please...please...please...

:worship:

PLEASE how about just a few MR trips...come on Disney, the boat would sell out. MR Halloween maybe?

cue the "But Mexico is dangerous!" post....but they go to Falmouth, which is a dump.

Come on Disney, give us some love!!!!

Another AZ family wanting MR in the fall, our kids are off for 2 1/2 weeks and would love to add a DCL trip to our annual DL trip. Please Disney!!!

Hoping for a NYC to anywhere!! We sailed twice in 2012 out of NYC with DCL and it was so nice not to have to fly to get to port.

I cannot but when I heard it, I was surprised. It was not predicted by any of us usual investigators.......

Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it, New York, New York...

Hoping!

I'm for NYC also. Sailed on three NYC cruises on the Magic and loved not having to fly to the port. I'm just sorry I didn't go to the Bahamas from there. NYC please. I have a lot of friends who want to go with me too.
