Fall 2008 PIs

I'm getting so nervous. I applied for 3 PIs on January 31st and haven't heard a thing yet. I know it takes a while to hear something but I'm so bad at waiting and I really want to know! I even emailed them and they only response I got was that they received my applications. :scared:

My interviewer was sending the email to me during the end of my interview. Towards the end of my interview I checked my email and it was already there.. so I would assume you get the application immediately if they plan to pass on your resume stuff..

I have a question for anyone who has done a PI before.. its been 2 weeks since my screeening interview. should i worry? should i contact someone? or am i lacking in the patience sector ? lol

I wouldn't worry, I didn't hear back until a little over a month after I had my intial interview.

well... change that to 6-8 weeks.. I recieved an email tonight at 5 pm telling me that I didnt sign my application that I mailed and that I will have to mail it to them again. :sigh: I could've sworn I signed but with all the excitement I guess maybe I forgot who knows. It just kills me to know that it took 2 weeks for them to recieve my email so it will be ANOTHER 2 weeks to get again.. that ruined my day :(

Well almost a month after submitting my application Disney finally called to schedule me for an interview! Sweet! I think it's just the screening interview, although the guy asked me a bunch of questions about Disney look and my previous experience with the company when he called today so who knows. Anyways, don't give up hope just because you haven't heard anything yet!

That sounds reassuring! It's only been about three weeks since I sent my resume in...so I might have a good wait ahead of me

I just received a call from Professional Internship program yesterday (Feb 18), around 1pm, got few basic questions, then I was schedule for a phone interview for wednesday (Feb 20) at 1pm!!!! I was pretty much playing the waiting game along with everyone else!!!! Hang in there, I applied for program every since Feb. 5th, just got emails last week, likely all of my internships will be science!!!! (animal kingdom and Epcot)

Since I'm a health Science major!!!! Good luck to everyone :thumbsup2

I really wish I knew their critera for selection for these programs.

I did the Spring Advantage program and recieved high marks from my management. I was also involved in a situation where they ran a cover story about me on the front page of the WDW Disney website. The General Manager of my resort even had a meeting with me and called the lady in charge of the professional recruiting for my area to put in his recommendation.

We had 2 PIs at my work location last semester that had no prior work experience, no prior CP program experience, and 1 of them got recruited due to they had attended a "National Minority Hospitality Conference"

And yet here I am without recieving a call. I just dont understand. I only came to Disney the first time due to thinking it was for the PI, yet was told when I got down here that a CP was required for the PI I wanted. Of course the very next program they offered....no longer required the CP for the PI...so I just wasted my time. Im just frustrated at the moment.

It's still really early in the game so don't get frustrated yet. When did you apply? Are you waiting on the first or 2nd interview?

1st, I havent been contacted yet. I sent an email in and they sent back a blanket response saying that they had the application and I would know one way or the other by May.

Really frustrating that I would have never come to Disney for a regular CP in the first place, as I have much more related experience in my field than the CP would ever give me. I accepted it because I was told it was required as a stepping stone to the PI that I needed....only to find out that it wasnt the case.

Hang in there, I am sure you have the qualifications and will eventually get an interview.

I just PM'ed you!

I just received my thank-you for interviewing email for my PI's 2 1/2 weeks later! now hopefully I will get a phone call for the interviews! Patience is the key thing with disney! Good Luck Everyone!!!

did they tell you which one they're interviewing you for? or is it just generally for all of them?

No they just told me that a woman named Cathy would be calling me. If it's the screening interview, they'll probably just call with some broader questions and then determine from there if I need to be interviewed for the individual positions. That's my best guess anyways.
