Fall 2008 PIs

Wow... That was quick! I thought they wouldn't be making decisions before March 7... but who cares!!! CONGRATULATIONS!
I think my situation is unique because my manager is in recruiting so he was able to help expedite my decision. I'm just happy that I'm done for awhile!!

Congratualtions! I know you were really looking foward to this!! Did you find out over the phone or email?

Congratulations Michelle!! That is awesome!!

Anyway, I just had my first interview... I think it went well..

She never mentioned an application though but I am a campus rep so I wonder if I need one??

Congrats on your internship! Do you know what area you're going to? Also-- does anyone know, do operations managment PIs only get placed in certain areas? I heard that the magic kingdom does not take management PIs for attractions.

As for the application-- I don't think you need to do one if you're a campus rep. My interviewer said that since I'm still with the company, (I'm a campus rep too) we could skip the next step and all I have left is to cross my fingers and wait!

I just accepted the CP as if I never applied for the PI. After I finished my PI interviews and was accepted, I just called the CP number in my packet I received from them and said I could not participate. I did not tell them why. They have no idea what is going on at the PI side of things.

That is not completely true. I am a Campus Rep at my school and had a long talk with my Recruiter about PI's and she recruits in my area for both CP and PI's so she does see who applies for both and all that. She won't handle my application for PI because she already knows me and she wanted to step put but she does see both for everyone.

I also did find out though, because I am applying for both CP and PI, that once you have been offered a position for CP, that spot is being held. You do not need to respond to that until you find out about the PI. Your spot will still be available at CP. That is exactly what she told me to do. Apply for CP early, get my acceptance, hold onto it until I find out about PI's then make a decision. The idea of deciding to accept CP and then changing your mind because of PI is not right. You have then taken a spot from someone else that maybe didn't get the job because of filling job quota. I think its wrong.

OMG! I just got the best news! I was accepted for the Operations Management position starting in June! My manager had been really pushing for me and I guess it all paid off!! I don't know any more details than that. Oh, and that professional recruiting is going to call me later this week with details. I am SO EXCITED! I can't wait to see you all down there!!!
 :cheer2:  :cheer2:  :cheer2:  :cheer2:

Congrats!! Are you currently a cm? are you a campus rep?

So, good news here... a little bit, at least! I had my first interview (screening) today and I applied on February 18th. I have an interview with the recruiter for one of my internships and I am really excited. It's on Monday, so wish me luck! WAHOOO!

Did anyone else apply for the Media Relations PI that starts in June? I was just curious if anyone had heard anything from them.

I don't know where I'm going yet...I got a preliminary offer...I will recieve my official one later this week! I'm afraid I'm going to jinx it though so I should stop talking about it!

Thanks so much, Vanessa!! I found out over the phone.

Campus Reps don't have to do the application. At least me and my other campus rep never did one.

Congrats!! Are you currently a cm? are you a campus rep?
I am currently a cast member. I'm a campus rep and have been for years! I'm sad because it's my last semester! Although maybe some day I'll get to recruit as a trip partner!

I'm sorry you feel that way. However, you just said exactly what I did in different words. Holding the offer is all I did, but that is the same as accepting. You have to decline for your position to be released. I was advised to do just as you were. However, you read too much into what I said and then judged me for exactly what you are doing and were advised to do. If your recruiter gave you advice about which program to apply for, it may be because she thinks it is best for you personally in your development.

For those who applied for the CP and PI, I did that too. Even if you get picked to do a CP first, that does not ruin your chances for the PI. My CP came through really early and I just called them when I found out about the PI and told them I would not be participating. It was as simple as that. Hang on to the CP acceptance until you find out about the PI. PI is the best to get if you can.

zada, thanks for your insight. It's very helpful. :thumbsup2

Could I get your insight? I decided just to apply for the PI. But in case I don't get in, I'll apply for another CP as a last resort. Is that a good strategy or not?

I had asked this question earlier, but Disney Interns had NO idea what I was talking about, so I'll ask here again.

Does anyone know why a professional application pops up in your profile when you click on a internship that you applied for?

TIA!

Yes the screening interview is the initial interview when they ask just the "housekeeping" questions, if you can do the whole program, whats your major, etc. At the end of mine I was told my information would be passed on to the managers of the different internships I applied for.

So did you have the screening and initial interview all at once or did you have them on separate days?

Hey Sandicinderelli!
I think that's the application I was refering to in the PM I sent you. Click on it and see what it says. I think it's the "pre-pre screening" that you have to do in order to complete your application.

FutureWDI and Zada 82:
Just to clarify again, for the whole waiting for PI before accepting the CP thing- I've receieved my acceptance for the CP, but an still goint throught the PI interview process. When you guys say to "hold on" to the CP acceptance, do you mean to not log in to the CP site to accept or decline?

The countdown/timeline in the acceptance packet says to accept or decline within 2 weeks of the offer, but in your opinion I should just wait anf they won't give my spot away?

I have emailed my recruiter to get her opinion, but you both seem pretty knowledgeable in the process, so I appreciate your insight!

Has anyone ever done any of the Epcot Sciences and Conservations positions at DAK??? If so, how was the program, the pros and cons????

Also, can you get overtime as a PI even though, its a 8am-5pm job mostly??? How does getting overtime work, is at any park or park your PI program is???

Thank you, any suggestions will help dearly, my 2nd interview is friday!!!!

No, it's the professional application.

Do you know what internship you will be interviewing for on Monday? Good Luck!!

I had a first interview last week, then was asked to complete the application..
then I completed the application.
The problems with that is new application, which has exactly same content, keeps coming up...
Does anyone have the smae problme as I have?

Yes krtiger, the same happens for me but I'm not sure it is a problem. It's probably just the way the website works for some reason?
