Fake fastpassers

I'm sadden that you were so happy by someone's embarrassment you were so happy that they were send back and i can tell by the excitement in your writing just how happy it made you, before we judge this family, was it their first time in Disney and had no idea what a fast pass line was? i sure hope i'm not the only disappointed reader here.
I concur with the other posters. I have personally witnessed groups of teens and some families stand at the base of the line, complain about the wait time, then say that since no one is going to check...let's just try it. I teach my kids to follow the rules and if you don't know the rules, then ask. Are there instances where there might be foreigners or others who just don't understand? Maybe. But I would imagine they'd try to learn a bit about the park before plunking down a grand on tickets. Either way, they would have learned going forward.

My DS and I had fastpasses for Space Mountain. A group of kids jumped the standby line to the fastpass line, ahead of us and when they got to the CM, they had no fastpasses. It was a shift change or a break, because there was another CM there and he escorted them to the end of the line. The wait was about 90 mins that day.:woohoo:
The funny thing is, they were about 3/4 way thru the standby line.

I'm almost tempted to play grammar cop on this post.

Anyway, please reread the original post and try not to skip any sentences. The original poster did not say these guys are brand new Japanese tourists who did ninja backflips into the line without knowing what's going on. They were a family of normal people trying to play stealth ninjas and failed.

I wasn’t even there and it made me happy. I hate it when people try to do things like this. Come on. I am so tired of people on this board trying to find some possible reason for someone’s bad behavior. Maybe they were a group of autistic people and didn’t know any better. Before you jump on me I have all sympathy for families dealing with autism and have a friend with an autistic grandchild. But, everyone has to admit that the possible excuse for someone’s bad behavior is way overused. Admit it. There are some people out there that will try to cheat the system, that will act outrageously, that will not discipline their children. (Stepping off soapbox)

Personally, I do feel bad for families who do the walk of shame from the FP entrances; it's possible they're not cheaters but simply don't the concept. In fact, I've seen people get a FP then go directly to the FP entrance. I really think it's a language problem.

Btw, there's no need for nastiness here. I think cracks about another poster's grammactical skills are out of line.

Same here! :thumbsup2

I was once at an amusement park and there were some people not paying attention that the line was moving. Some teens jumped in from the side and cut everyone. I yelled over to the people who were in front of the cutters to make sure they inform the people who worked the ride about what they did. And they said "dont worry we will". Of course the cutters threatened to do all sorts of things to me, and I yelled back "I hope you get removed from the park!" They finally gave up and left.

I'm glad that Disney double checks the fast pass lane so that we don't have to police it ourselves.

During the Labor Day weekend, I was waiting at the FP entrance for DH and DD so we could do a baby swap at BTMR. A group of 4 who barely spoke english got a FP and then immediately gave it to the CM at the FP line....seeing that they completely did not understand the concept he gave them FP that he had in hand and let them through. They were going to be very dissapointed at the next ride..........

Oh please. The people didn't say "Wow, look, this line is shorter!" and go through (as somebody unaware might) they said "we have fastpasses" which was an out-and-out lie. The OP was probably very happy knowing Disney is preventing this from happening. If people like that were allowed to get away with it, soon fastpasses would be meaningless for all of us.

1) It is a shame you feel this way.
2) After all
. . . they were probably were hot and wanted to get out of the sun quicker
. . . they had adults who do not like to wait in line
. . . they had children that were cranky and can't stand in line quietly
. . . they wanted to go to other rides, so wanted to get this one faster
. . . they paid a lot for their vacation and they deserved special treatment
. . . they thought waiting in line was for others and not for them

This is ridiculous!!!

1) There is satisfaction in seeing cheaters get what they deserve. This is not a lie.

2) So are 500 other families at the park.

I for one love the Fastpass system. Although it's sometimes a pain in the tushie since you still are technically waiting to ride, it's nice not to be trapped in an hour long line with other grumpies; instead, riding something less popular, eating a meal, shopping, people watching etc. When abuses occur, it's a pleasure to watch the Disney machine handle it too. None of us would like it if the FP's were taken away due to a series of mean-spirited jerks taking advantage; therefore, enforcement is needed. And there are soooo many instances of poor parenting all over the place, where the observer has to just suck it up and not say what they want, that when it's handled officially it's almost a sense of relief.

Last trip out in May/June, my son and I were in the FP line for SM, and a family of non-English speakers were ahead of us. They clearly didn't understand the system, and had gotten their FP's and then went right to the line. The CM at the front didn't catch it, but the CM at the end did; and off they were sent, with an explanation in their own language by the CM. Well handled by the CM and well taken by the family, too; they were embarrassed and apologized, and I bet they did fine the rest of the time.

LMAO. I don't know what was funnier. The sarcasm or the fact that the sarcasm of the post was lost on this one.

And as I've never cheated FP or attempted to, the OP didn't hurt my feelings. My only thought is that the kids might be embarassed by their parents behavior - which sucks.

Ding ding ding... I think someone's sarcasm meter is on the fritz.... :rotfl2:

I'm with Mr. Filch, I miss the old punishments, time was you'd be hanging in the dungeon by your thumbs...oh I miss the screams...oh, I'm sorry, that was just a movie! :rotfl:

When I was in school they called it breaking in line. Of course now days they probably call it seizing an opportunity.

The sarcasm meeter needs a tune up. It happens...nothing a little 40 weight oil and some ball bearings can't fix...afterall, its all ball bearings these days.

The family announced they too have fasspasses and got into the line. Sounds like they got exactly what they deserve. I would have been happy too!
