Faith, Trust & Pixie Dust! Jenn & Kevin 10/12/14 Italy/ADH/France - The End (7/2016 New TR Link!)

Love that wine box! And the ring box too, how simple and lovely.

I really like your colors. I agree about the napkins (having coordinated a LOT of special events). They look fabulous, till the first person sits down. Runners are overlays are better.

Thank you!! I'm really excited with how the boxes turned out.

I think I was really only holding on to the napkin idea because it would (assumedly) be the cheapest options, but the more I think about why I want it (to serve as a pop of color on the table) the more I'm convinced I'll do a runner or overlay. We'll see when I get the prices back and we know how many tables we're ending up with. I definitely prefer overlays but I may settle for runners if it's cheaper.

Ahh, you're getting so close!! I could totally stalk your wedding if you want. Haha.

I absolutely love your wine and ring boxes! I think the ring box is perfect as is. :)

I would LOVE for you to stalk my wedding! And/or have a meetup. I'm so bummed to be missing the big one!

My friend Kerri and I aren't brides but we could totally stalk your wedding as well! Lol

Oh how fun! Have you picked/booked any excursions yet?

Seeing as we're roughly a month before you and Jess it's perfectly fine if you haven't thought of things we have yet, in my opinion anyway :thumbsup2

We have! We're doing the Bahamian cruise so we're renting bikes at Nassau and going on some sort of waterslide adventure at Castaway Cay - or possibly the other way around! I *think* Jess booked Palo as well, she desperately wanted to book Remy just because she loves Ratatouille but Palo looks better for us in every way except name.

Yeah good point! It is handy following along with your planning as it shows me what we need to start thinking about, like runners for example! I really like your colour combination, lime crushed romance is a bit of an odd name but it'll complement all the blue so well.

Stalk away!! Of course as I'm saying this I realize I'll have no ceremony creepers, given that we'll be in park - which is half the reason I wanted an in-park ceremony in the first place. Ah well.

Ooooo yay! I really wanted to do a Bahamian cruise when we potentially revisit for our first anniversary next year, but the Dream will be in dry dock so no can do

I despreately want to try Palo brunch, but that's all we're going for with adult dining. I'm pretty sure Kevin would enjoy Palo dinner (I'd just have to tell him it's Italian :thumbsup2) but I don't want to miss any of the main dining on our first cruise, and I don't think either of us are ready for Remy.

I don't know about you, but I've really enjoyed the ridiculous names colors get once they join the wedding world :lmao: What used to be red and yellow becomes "Raspberry Romance" or "Daffodil in the rain" or something silly like that.

Just 54 days to go! We got a handful more RSVPs the other day, so now our expected total is offically below a maximum of 80 (79 to be precise, with a minimum of 60) - I've given up on expecting the bridal party to return theirs, so I'm just rolling them into the total now ;). The deadline is in 10 days (when did THAT happen!) and I have a feeling those last RSVPs are going to come in right under the wire as our friends crunch their numbers.

I finally have my something old/new/borrowed/blue! My something old is a pendent of my mom's - my dad gave it to her the day I was born, and I love that it goes with my color scheme! Since I won't be wearing a necklace my mom plans to have it attached to a bracelet once I pick one out.

My something new is my earrings! I bought them off another Disney bride I met online who changed her mind and went with pearls. My MOH shopped them onto a picture from my hair & makeup trial and I think they're going to be stunning!

My something borrowed will be a pin from another Disney bride, which I plan to add to my bouquet:

And of course, my something blue is my fabulous shoes :woohoo I've started breaking them in since Kevin was away this past weekend, and man, it's going to be a long road! Our marriage license application also came in today, so we'll be sending that off next week once we get it notarized.

That's about all for now - I highly suspect my shower is this Sunday, so I may be updating on that soon. It's so funny I always assumed people stopped updating their PJs as much as it got closer to their date because they got so busy, and while I'm definitely busy I realize now there's just not as much to update! When you don't have a plethora of DIY projects it's just a lot of waiting at this point, though we still have some big things to cross off the list - namely selecting our music & finishing the ceremony off the top of my head. Well, it's a good thing we still have 7 weeks before we get on a plane! (7. WEEKS. HOLY CRAP.)

Oh my gosh your day is approaching so fast!!! That is such a sweet and touching memento for your something old. If your shower is this Sunday, I hope you have a great time :thumbsup2. I hope I'm in the same position as you that as the day draws closer, there is little left to do except sit back and wait! It definitely sounds like the earlier you get stuff planned and together, the easier everything is leading up to the big day. Great job!

I really think it will be this Sunday - we've started getting a few registry gifts in the mail and based on the fact that I know it's before our friend's wedding next weekend there's really no other time! We are having a large surprise 60th birthday party for my aunt & uncle on Saturday which I half suspect is a cover story, but I think that's just me being a little crazy- still, I may bring along my white dress in the car just in case ;)

Hi everyone!! Just 47 days to go till the big day - EEEP! We have 3 days left till our RSVPs are due, and we're only waiting on 13 more people (plus a few who have booked a room but not actually RSVP'd - which I'm not entirely expecting to receive back at this point). We're at a total of 62 right now, but I highly doubt we're going to pass 65, which is amazing! It's actually less than we planned on having, which means I don't feel as bad about upgrading linens and chairs at the reception ;)

So it turns out this weekend was my shower after all! I thought it was going to be Sunday, since that seemed more "traditional" (and more like my mother), but it turns out that the "surprise 60th birthday party" for my aunt on Saturday was actually our shower! I figured it out actually right before hand, much to Kevin's dismay, but I think I was able to pull off being surprised well enough (did I mention my mom really, REALLY wanted me to be surprised?) Kevin came to the shower as well, which I've gathered isn't that common in some parts of the country - neither of us had ever heard of it - but both our parents said our dads were at their showers, and at the end of the day I was incredibly glad he was there. If there's one thing I've learned from our engagement party and now the shower, it's that I'm not so much a fan of all those eyeballs on me at once, and just having Kevin around was a great way to relax and calm down.

I got the idea from another Disney bride to give my phone to my MOH during the day, so that there would actually be pictures I wouldn't have to wait weeks for!

I had made it perfectly clear I wanted to wear this dress at the shower when it happened, so Kevin smuggled it out of the house with us

My mother planned the whole shebang - I loved seeing our colors everywhere!!

My uncle drove into Boston that morning to visit Georgetown cupcakes - and OH. MY. GOODNESS. I am a convert. I've never been crazy about cake/cupcakes and usually don't care much for them but these were the most delicious baked goods I have every had. We had them for breakfast and dinner on Sunday (and yes, I paid dearly for it on the scale :() but they were amazing. If you've had them, I know you know what I mean.

I have about 30 pictures of us opening gifts, which I know no one wants to see, but here are a few of the best. Our friends & family were far far too generous, that's for sure.

My old co-workers gave me this princess bag.....

.......containing the essentials of wedding planning :lmao:

Not only did my aunt find the perfect paper/ribbon, she found a card with a brooch bouquet in our colors!! I'm still stunned by it

We got a bottle of champagne from our friends......and a wonderful picture of Kevin.

It's hard to tell, but those same friends gave use glasses engraved with our names and date (and Mickey and Minnie!) which we are so excited for, as we hadn't planned to bring any to Florida. My aunt also made this GORGEOUS card box (complete with flowers from her yard!) that we plan on schlepping down to WDW as well! I can't wait to see these again on the wedding day.

Now I've got to get started on those thank you notes :rolleyes1

We had a moment leaving the shower were we realized the next major wedding "event" was our respective bachelor/ette parties (Kevin's in 2 weeks, mine on a surprise weekend in September), and then THE WEDDING. I can't believe how quickly the summer has flown by.

Elphie, I think I went bug-eyed when I saw the picture of your gift table - holy crud! You two have some awesome family and friends. :goodvibes And, may I say that the cupcakes looked absolutely drool-worthy? Mmmm, I don't even remember what cake tastes like, my I would kill for one of those chocolate cupcakes. Love all of the pictures, you two are always really cute to see together.:upsidedow

This will be goofy...but man, I wish I knew exactly what color those napkins are considered! That's exactly the shade I want, it looks just a bit more saturated than the normal lime color (especially the one I've seen in a lot of LSS pics).

Everything is getting so close for you two! Time is just flying - less than two months, and you'll be flying out for your wedding! :thumbsup2

I'm truly shocked with the kindness and generosity of our friends and family. We weren't expecting that at all.

Those cupcakes ARE drool-worthy! If you find yourself in Boston, LA, DC or NYC you must visit Georgetown Cupcake. I insist!

I wish I knew where my parents got the napkins from! Feel free to steal a picture for reference if you want. I know they do have swatches at Franck's you can look at during your PS (if you're going - I can't remember).

It's very nearly a month and a half away! I swear we're just going to blink and it'll be mid-September.

Wonderful shower pictures! Your white dress is so cute. And I'm drooling looking at those cupcakes, haha.

Looks like you guys got a really nice gift haul, too. Love the personalized Mickey/Minnie glasses. :)

Wow, I missed such a lot (but I have a good excuse: Sunday we're going to a Disney park for the first time and between planning and learning for my exam, there wasn't anything else).
Those colors are beautiful, so saturated and bright! You will get a wonderful look in ADH!

And your accessories are also so gorgeous - I especially love the pendant, keep us updated which bracelet you choose!

And: wow, why don't we have Bridal showers over here?! And WHY OH WHY hadn't I heard of this cupcake store when I was in Boston? They look mouth-watering…

How did I not think of pulling that and referencing that during the planning session!?! Thanks for that reminder! And yeah, we're going, since Raist was dead set on it - I think we're there 2 weeks before you arrive (would have loved going in October...but *sigh* must schedule everything around my crazy IT work schedule). I forgot that they were bringing swatches with them, and that was one of the first things I checked about.:lmao:

So, DC has those lovely cupcakes? Maybe I'll have to make room in the budget to travel over there and visit my friends - then I can get some! If I thought my dad would meet up with me in Boston, I'd go over that way, but he's pretty much avoids driving over that way. :(

Haha, I must admit, it feels like time is flying - I really can't believe how close your wedding is...and my planning session is only 3 weeks away now! :goodvibes Hmmm, maybe I should actually update my planning journal...it just feels like there's not much to say there right now.

We had what I've been calling an embarrassment of riches. The glasses definitely take the cake though - I'm so excited we'll be able to use them in FL!!

Your first park!! In the states or DLP?

You'll have to make it over here sometime soon!! Or one of the other stores - truly it was a spiritual cupcake experience.

Yep! The original store is in DC I think (hence why they're called Georgetown Cupcake).

You should update your journal!! I love reading about everyone's planning (even if I don't comment as often as I'd like).

NEXT MONTH PEOPLE.

OUR WEDDING IS NEXT MONTH. :scared1:

39 days if we're going to be precise. 35 days till we have to be all packed and up at our night-before hotel. Just 24 full days of work after today. But hey, who's counting?

Speaking of numbers, still have a grand total of 24 people who we have yet to hear from. I'm waiting to see what comes in the mail today (because of the holiday weekend) and then I'm sending out the troops to make some harassing phone calls. My dad already spoke to one of his cousins who said she just "forgot" to send it in, but she's coming - why do people not RSVP? Seriously.

Here is our remaining to-do list, no particular order:

  • Finish writing our ceremony
  • Purchase gifts for moms, dads, and officiant
  • Order escort cards (once guest list is final)
  • Order buttons (once button design is final)
  • Figure out what we want our "Choose a Seat, not a Side" sign to look like, and get it
  • Purchase bridal bracelet
  • Select first dance track & wrangle out parent dance songs from my dad and DF's mom
  • Finish my vows (no big deal)
  • Find ties for our fathers (as a gift)
  • Decide on getting my manicure in FL or MA and make said appointment
  • Finish our MNSSHP costumes and actually purchase those tickets
  • Edit our Carolyn Allen's steaming appointment for the number of dresses and suits required
  • Look for comfy flip flops/reception shoes
  • Shop for whatever I'm going to wear for my bachelorette party
  • Lose another 10 pounds
  • Order favors

On the bright side, we finally crossed a biggie off the list yesterday - our ceremony music! Mostly because our planner wouldn't give us our Final BEO until we submitted the music to her. And thus, here it is (with Youtube links in case anyone is REALLY bored):

Pre-Ceremony: A selection of our favorite mood-setting Disney parks background music. We chose, in this order: The Living Seas with Nemo & Friends, A Bug's Life Suite (from DCA), Soarin Over California Exit, Space Mountain Queue, Canada Pavilion Part One, Canada Pavilion Part Two. All tracks YouTube ripped from Mr Theme Park Audios

Processional: The whole wedding party will be coming in to The Piano Guys' cover of A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. Yes it's (apparently) from a dang Twilight movie and apparently was also used in our friend's wedding (that I wasn't at) last year, but it made me cry on the train so we're using it! A Thousand Years - Christina Perri (Cover)

Bride Entrance: One of the very few things in this wedding that has been set in stone for years. When I was waiting to meet the princesses at Town Hall at the very beginning of my college program, I heard The Princess Diaries Waltz playing as atmosphere music, and I had a 'hit by a ton of bricks' moment where I just knew, without a doubt, that it had to be my entrance music for my someday-wedding. And here it is: The Princess Diaries Waltz

Wine Box Ceremony: This one stumped us because it's so short (really only a minute long) and we didn't know what to do for it. So Kevin suggested a piano cover of one of his (apparent) favorites - The Book of Love by Peter Gabriel. He says he's always loved it since he sobbed like a baby when Scrubs ended, and since he loves it I love having it in the ceremony :) The Book of Love - Piano Cover

Recessional: The Muppets!! When I'm running sometimes I'll listen to WDW Radio on my phone, and one day they were playing the MuppetVision 3D area music, which included an instrumental version of Movin' Right Along. We went looking for it on YouTube, and found this, which just feels PERFECT for a recessional!! Movin' Right Along - Piano Cover

And that's our music!! It's really exciting to have crossed something off the list (and a pretty big something at that).

Which brings me to our favors. On Friday night we picked our favors from Etsy - wedding koozies!

il_570xN.548581075_1u0t.jpg

On Saturday our friends got married. And what was their favor? I kid you not, these exact koozies. Same Etsy seller. Same saying. They even made the same wording change we were going to (swapping out the word 'beer' for 'drink'). Talk about deflating our balloon. So now we're stuck. We don't love the other wording options as much, but I want to stick with this seller because of her quality of work. My knee jerk reaction though is not to be a copycat.....ugh.

How do you guys feel? If you went to 2 weddings in a little over a month and they had identical favors, would you care? We've already decided that if we don't change them we're telling the bride and groom at least that we ordered before their wedding (which is almost true!) I need some opinions!

I love your music selections!! I might take your idea of using "Moving Right Along." The piano versions sounds really nice!

Ahh! They almost surprised you with the surprise surprise shower! It is great to see your colours, they look so good together. Especially that paper/ribbon combo from your aunt - and the brooch! It's so thoughtful to include your colours like that and really make it look like part of the whole. The photos are so good, they really caught some great expressions from Kevin too! I always worry I'm gonna look bored (even though I'm likely not) in such photos, doesn't look like that's an issue for him!

It was great reading about all your music choices and how you arrived at them, and a little daunting because if that's what is stopping you getting your final BEO then I know we're gonna have the exact same roadblock! Looks like you've cleared it brilliantly though, the way you talk about each choice makes it sound like that's the only song it could possibly be.

The favour conundrum is a tricky one! I think I'd have the same knee jerk reaction but I feel like you're not totally scared off by it. Your wedding is going to be so unique and unlike anything your guests will probably ever see, it's hard to imagine the favour is going to take away from that. I've been to a few weddings that had similar favours and thought nothing of it because its such a functional useful thing to use at the time and a great keepsake for when you get home again. It's tough, I'm not sure what I'd do but I think if they're what you want and you know they're good quality then I guess I don't see why you'd intentionally pick something you don't like as much. Best of luck with the decisions and your to-do list - just over a month to go!

I think my favorite part is how it's still perky and upbeat while being 100% piano (so fitting with the rest of our ceremony music).

Favors are just a thorn in my side at the moment, mostly because I'm feeling anything we get we'd need to get now if we want it to be personalized. We still have to think about it.

I highly doubt you would appear bored! Especially since you're so involved in your own wedding planning (as exhibited by your PJ on these boards!)

Ah yes the music. We just sat down for a few hours and figured everything out - honestly the hardest part was the pre-ceremony music (our park atmosphere selections), which you don't even have to provide if you don't want to (DFTW will automatically play "an instrumental selection of classical Disney love songs" but Kevin wanted to make it our own).

I'm a little late to the party...but WOW your PJ is amazing! I can't wait to hear more.

Better late then never!! Glad to have you along for the ride and thank you for your kind words :flower3:

I've read your whole PJ in the past couple days. Everything sounds like it's coming together awesomely! I looooove the idea of the Princess Diaries Waltz. I might have to steal that one for a processional, it's such a beautiful song.
