Okay let me start with the most obvious of my crazy morning to be.
I bought my dress in ohio, where my mom and dad live. I kept the dress in one of their closets with all of my wedding day stuff. Shoes and all. I decided to get my dress altered at a David's Bridal in Indiana where I live. When I took my dress from my parents I only took the items I needed to get it altered, not the extras......like the veil...bad mistake. So basically, I had everything I needed except my veil, because I forgot to get it from my parents house, and my mom forgot to grab it because she thought I took everything when i took my dress.......
So I wake up on my wedding day to my mom handing me a phone number to David's Bridal. I am crying st this point. My dress was very basic and plain, so I almost needed my veil to comlpete the look. Had my dress been a little more intricate, I would have not worried about the veil. It is 8:00 a.m. and Anna from makeover Majic is not coming until 12:30. So, this is doable. I call david's bridal at 10:00 because that is the time they open around me. Luckily some one answers the phone. I ask what time they open and she says 11:00.
Wow, that will be cutting it close, but I weight this in my head and realize that if Anna came before i was back, she could start on my MOH.
The next dilemma: how do we get there? No one has a car and DB is about 20 mins away from SOG. So I start calling cab companies.....wow....not cheap. Then my MOH (sister) offers the solution of Tiffany Town Car, she said the man that brought us from the airport told her that we could call him any time that week if we needed anything. So I call him, he is booked for the day but he calls a co-worker that is on vacation. He agrees to pick me up for about 60.00 cheaper than a cab company. So we book it. This man took time away from his son that was visitng from Brazil and his own vacation time to take me to DB. He said he felt sorry for me and my situation and said no bride should feel like less than a princess on her wedding day.....
So, I must say Tiffany Town Car is a service we will always use when we are down there, they completely went above and beyond to help me out when I needed it most.
So my mom and i head to DB. i walk into the store and the lady at the desk asks if i have an appt. i told her my wedding was today and i needed a veil pronto......and she says "Ohhhhh you are the bride we have been waiting for!" Then three consultants rush over to me and start asking what I am looking for, i tell them the veil I had bought that I loved and within 30 seconds they had it in my hand. Then they gave me 30% off. Here I am:
So now we are on our way back to the hotel to meet Anna. She came at about 12:30 and did me, my MOH, my FG, and my mom. My mom had not previously scheduled to have her hair done, but Anna said she would take care of her regardless. Which i thought was nice.
When I first saw my hair i kinda freaked because it was WAY curlier than i had wanted, but Anna assured me that the curls would fall and relax, which they did. Me and Anna:
Anna left us at about 3:00. The limo was picking me up at 4:30 so i went and did my makeup and just relaxed a little. I am not sure at what point this was taken because i was unaware anyone was there taking a pic, but I love it because I look so contemplative:
I got into my dress at about 4:00 and headed down to the lobby to meet the limo driver at 4:20.
Our limo driver was Doug...ironic....and he was so wonderful. He was very cordial and had that Disney happiness that makes you feel like you are a princess in a truly magical place. He made us all feel so comfortable. He was very helpful with stuffing my dress in the car, but was very gentle with handling my dress and me. Great guy.
Me and my dad in the limo:
So now I was officially on my way to get married to my prince! I had this beautiful location waiting for me:
next up: The wedding and reception - and toasts.....ohhhh the toasts.....
