FairFX cards

We did actually use it to withdraw lump sums of cash - yes their is a $2 fee but we would not use it for small amounts.

A word of warning for those that do withdraw from ATM's with FairFX card. we did it a couple of years ago, and it did'nt spit the money out..............we had to wait 3 months to get it back after several letters and irate phone calls............we were lucky that we had another credit card back up, but those on a tight budget beware............H

Am I correct in thinking that there isn't a loading charge, so say if I wanted to put £25 - £50 per week on that would be fee free and the only charge applied is for ATM withdrawals. If this is the case how do they make their money, is it like a credit card where they charge the merchants

Minimum you can load on is now £75.

Anyone tried the virgin money loaded cards? How do they compare to FairFX?

I think I'll be doing the Fair FX Card and money exchange when we go away in Oct 2011.

Thanks for letting me know this is out there!
