I'm horrible at searches - so I thought I'd just ask! Never been to F & W, and we will be there on Oct 2nd. Wondered, other than the pricey paid events, what is there for us "regular" folks with only park admission? This will be our first visit to EPCOT, and the only day we can go there - should we try to go before F & W, or will it add positively to our experience? We will have 2 DS's (6 and 7) with us, so the extra paid activities aren't an option! Any info would be great! Thanks-

Kristy,

Last time I was there for this was a number of years ago, but I remember that around the World Showcase was all kinds of booths with food from many different countries, not just the ones in the showcase. You could pick up little bits of food from each one for a small fee, like $2 or $3. We actually made a meal of it. Some had savory foods, others had desserts and sweets. There was also carts with wines from all over the world where you could pick up a glass for a couple of dollars. Now I'm not sure if this changed, but that's what I remember.

It is one of our favorite times to go and actually there is a lot to so other than the paid events. In fact, only occassionally do we spend the money on one of the dinners. There are food stands set up around World Showcase and are themed to a specific country. Many of the countries are not represented in World Showcase. They will have a couple of wine offerings and 2 or 3 food offerings. They are sample size portions and usually not more than $2 or $3 per portion. Also, during the day there are free cooking demonstrations and wine and beer education seminars that are free. We have been there the last 3 Octobers and usually spend one evening just walking around sampling the food and wine and that is our dinner. We tend to hit them one more time for our favorites.

Thank you! That sounds wonderful! I don't think I'll make a PS for dinner - we can just graze. And thanks to WDW transportation, I can actually enjoy a bit of the wine. I'm getting so excited!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

...And don't forget the "Eat to the Beat" free concert series, held at the small outdoor concert hall in "USA" area of the World Showcase. The schedule of performers is as follows:

10/1 – 10/5 – Kool and the Gang
10/6 – 10/10 – Starship
10/11 – 10/12 – Beach Boys
10/13 – 10/15 – Temptations Review
10/16 – 10/20 – Taylor Dayne
10/21 – 10/25 – Commodores
10/26 – 10/28 – Three Dog Night
10/29 – 10/30 – Survivor
10/31 – 11/04 – Blake Shelton
11/5 – 11/9 – Eddie Money
11/10 – 11/14 – Chubby Checker

I think they perform 3 times per day, 2 of which are in the evening, but not too late for the kids. We enjoyed that very much last year.
